Hello World! I have been on a painting frenzy as of late. I made a list of all of the rooms in the house which need to be painted (which is all of them…lol) and checked off the ones that have been completed or partially completed.
The Downstairs List:
Entryway – Completed
Family Room – Completed
Hearth Room
Breakfast Room
Kitchen
Laundry Room
Dining Room – Completed
Hallway – Completed
Half Bath
The Upstairs List:
Stairwell
Hallway
Master Bedroom – Completed
Master Bathroom
My Office – Walls completed, Ceiling needs to be finished
Mr. Dedicated’s Office
Little Dedicated’s Room
Playroom
Little Dedicated’s Bathroom
The upstairs has 4 rooms that have bold colors on the ceiling that will need to be painted. I will definitely show you before pictures so you can see what I’m dealing with.
Okay, let me show you the entryway. Mind you, nothing is really styled the way I really want it. I’m doing good to get this house painted! LOL. However, it is partially styled. So, bear with me on that aspect. None of the rooms I show you are nowhere near finished.
Alright, enough talk. These pictures are not the best. I didn’t have time to get out the light kit or the tripod.
This picture is looking into the entryway from the front door. The paint is the same as in the Family Room, Benjamin Moore Brandy Cream.
Let me show you the before. The next picture is from the listing with the previous owner’s paint choices and decor.
This picture is looking from the dining room. The entryway and the dining room were the same color. Also, you can see how the paint in the family room beyond is quite the mustard color. Depending on the time of day, that color can look quite gross. I don’t want to get graphic, but you can use your imagination.
Here is the entryway with our decor and the same green paint. I didn’t mind the green so much, but it really didn’t do well next to the mustard color. So, I thought it would be better to paint the entire downstairs all the same color since each room flows into the next.
This is looking from the hallway facing the front door. The new paint is above the front door.
The wall to the right is part of the hallway that connects the front part of the house to the back. You can see how much of a mustard color the paint color in the hallway is. I took this picture at a different time of day, so you can really see its true color.
Just making the way around the entryway looking into the hallway and family room.
You can see the contrast between the lighter paint in the entryway and the goldish paint in the hallway and the stairway. I can’t wait to get rid of all of this mustardy paint. We can really see so much of a difference with just a couple of rooms painted.
A nice close up of my Mary & Martha candle holder.
Some super old books with my fun gold bookend. I think I might just cover the books and paint Mr. Bookend on down the road.
My blue chest needs some touch up as well. It had some paint that decided to come off while it was in storage.
So, what do you think? This house is definitely a work in progress. But, I shall keep pressing onward to get this lovely one painted and decorated. Of course, with major breaks in the pool!
