Hello World! Welcome Friends! So you’re on WordPress and you upgraded to the new WordPress 5 and you HATE IT! Personally, I thought the Classic Editor was easy to use and was shocked that they switched to the block system editor also known at the Gutenberg Editor. There is nothing worse than getting used to WordPress a certain way and then they introduce new changes with an update that have you missing the previous update.
If you are in the same boat and cannot stand the new editor, check out my easy steps to get back the Classic Editor so you won’t have to figure out how to navigate around the blocks.
First Step
Log into WordPress.
You will want to see the black navigation sidebar on the left.
Second Step
Go to Plugins
Search for Classic Editor in Add New
Choose & Activate Classic Editor
Third Step
Go to Settings
Go to Writing
Verify that the Default is set on Classic
That’s It!
If you are ready to switch back to the Classic Editor, follow these simple steps and you will be back to writing with the same style and ease you knew before in WordPress!

Hahah, this is a day to late, I spent the entire weekend talking to tech support trying to switch back. When it went to the new editor all I got was a blank screen and I couldn’t edit posts for almost a week! I was freaking out. This would have been helpful.
OMGosh! Patrick, that’s awful! My update didn’t take place until yesterday morning. The new Gutenberg editor is horrible. I tried writing a post that should have taken about 15 minutes. It took me over an hour. I knew I had to get the Classic Editor back. Hope all is up and running smoothly on your site now!

I read that the classic editor would only be supported until next year. It said, while arrogant we would all have to get used to it – like it, or not. I am wondering if that is true or if everyone complains will the go back to the classic? You know sort of like classic coke or regular? Remember that?
