Hello World! Welcome Friends! I am so excited to take part in this year’s Winter Wonderland on a Tray Blog Tour. Our wonderful hostess and organizer is the beautiful Katherine from Katherine’s Corner!
The Winter Wonderland on a Tray Blog Tour is 24 Bloggers Sharing the Beauty of a Decorated Tray! I hope you enjoy all of the creativity and find great inspiration!
Before I begin, let me welcome the visitors from Bluesky at Home. Isn’t Carol amazing? She has some of the best ideas for creating a beautiful home!
Here is my tray filled with Christmas trees and festive Christmas figurines set as the centerpiece on our Breakfast Room table.
Let me give you a wide shot of the space. For my current readers, you will see that there have been a few changes. First, a new paint color on the walls. I know what you’re thinking. Yes, we did have it painted not too long ago. But, I decided I wanted to go a tad warmer in paint color. If you look to the right, you will see the old paint color. That will eventually be painted except for the art niche. That is staying as is, however I did have a thought to add a touch of red to the flowers. But, seriously I need to get my entire house completed, even though the little flower project would be much more fun.
Another addition is that we finally hung the mirror above the buffet. The wreath is attached to the mirror with a command hook you can use on glass. I’ve never done this before, but I opted for this look as opposed to a ribbon attached to the top and back of the mirror. I tried that option, but it didn’t hang right and the ribbon covered up the pretty scroll work on the frame. I’m hoping when I take the hook down, all will be fine with the mirror, otherwise I’ll have to invest in a wreath of the month club and change out the wreath every month! Lol
Oh, and we also got curtains hung. I have these curtains all over. My office, the dining room and also the family room are sporting these dark floral lovelies! And, I finally got a rug I like.
The furniture we’ve had since our last home. It’s Benchmade from Bassett Furniture. I believe they still make this if you are interested.
For the Breakfast Room table, I like the atmosphere to be more whimsical instead of formal. This is where we take most of our meals; depending on that Marching Band schedule.
Back to the tray. I filled it with a cute snowman on top that has Christmas trees on the bottom of the figurine. He is surrounded by little Christmas trees and ornaments.
Next level is our Santa and Snowman salt and pepper shakers. We don’t actually put salt and pepper in them. They are just for show. When our daughter was little, she loved playing gently with them at meal time.
The bottom level is filled with Christmas tree mugs. This set of dishware was from Walmart years ago. I do have Spode’s Christmas Tree set, but I prefer to use this set on a daily basis.
In the picture below, you can get a good look at our new rug. On the table, we have gold and silver flatware from Pottery Barn that was purchased years ago. Also, the placemats, napkins and napkin rings are from Amazon last year. The napkin rings are 3 Christmas trees and 3 candy canes. You can just barely see one of the Christmas tree napkin rings below.
Here is a closer look at the cute Christmas tree napkin ring.
The candy cane napkin ring is below. I also placed the little ceramic train on the table that little fingers liked to play with many years ago. You can just get a glimpse of the Christmas tree and presents on the plate with little holly berry sprigs circling the plate.
I love how all of the colors mingle nicely with the vibrant curtains.
On the Christmas tree below, there is a little train that circles the tree. And, yes it does move.
On the buffet I placed a smattering of Christmas trees.
You can just get a glimpse of the big tree in the reflection in the mirror. She still hasn’t been decorated. Work and the schedule have been pretty hectic. But, whenever I walk through the room, I put a couple of ornaments on. But, I need a good 4 hour chunk of time to get it decorated.
Here’s a full shot facing our back door. For those that are new, I have been slowly eradicating the baby diarrhea paint color that was on every door, shelf and trim work. I still need to paint the door and trim, but alas time…
Well, that’s it for the breakfast room and my Winter Wonderland tray. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did putting this all together.
Your next stop is Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household where you will find Melynda who has some amazing dishes in her recipe repertoire. After you check out her tray, you will want to hang around and peruse her recipes.
