Hello World! Welcome Friends! Remember those carefree summer days of youth?
Wake up with the sun shining through the window, nothing but freedom and frolicking to be had during the day. The world was your oyster.
What was the soundtrack of those halcyon days? You had the rustling of the leaves, the distant sound of cars passing by, the crunch of your feet on the dewy lawn.
Above all, though, the predominant sound was the song of the birds. Their sweet serenade emanated through the warm air.
Why do birds sing?
There are a number of reasons why birds sing. Why do birds sing in the morning? What do bird calls mean?
Here are a few reasons why birds sing.
Why Do Birds Sing in the Morning?
Do you know how people post workout pictures in the morning on Instagram so that they seem fit and healthy? That’s basically the same reason birds sing in the morning.
Why do the birds sing in the morning? Birds are typically at their weakest in the morning because they eat during the day. They don’t want to appear weak, though, and singing is a good way to show off how strong and healthy they are.
It’s basically a form of showing off. Male birds want to appear strong and healthy to potential mates, and a good way to do that is to sing loud and proud.
What Do Bird Calls Mean?
Not all bird calls mean the same thing. There are a variety of bird calls and bird vocalizations that they can use, all with different meanings. Why do birds sing?
For example, birds will call out while in flight to announce their presence and the presence of their flocks to other birds.
Birds will also send out what are functionally check-in calls. If you ever hear a couple of birds chirping at each other, they’re likely having a conversation with each other about good news.
What is good news for birds? Usually a nice food source.
Maybe you’ve heard baby birds chirping endlessly. They’re crying out for the same reason that human babies cry out: they want their mom’s attention. As it turns out, birds will continue to make these calls even after they grow up, because your mom never stops being your mom.
If you want to hear a bunch of different bird calls, it might be a good idea to invest in a copper birdhouse.
The Sweet Sounds of Bird Songs
There’s truly no sweeter sound in the morning than a chorus of birds. Why do birds sing? There’s no one answer, but it’s mostly for attention.
Like most animals, birds are social creatures, so they need an easy way to communicate with each other. Bird vocalizations are the way they do so, and luckily for us, they sound very pretty.
