Hello World! Welcome Friends! Traditional homes have a physical presence unlike any other. For some reason, their style gives them a more domineering role in any neighborhood. A traditional home among hundreds of contemporary homes will stand out like a sore thumb. It’s not always because of its shape or size, but it’s material, colors, and intricate detailing. Somehow, a traditional home makes great use of older more natural materials, yet manages to look humble and grand at the same time. There are many ways the exterior of this style of home can look. You’ve probably seen the more common types, but here are some abstract renditions.
A Grass Walkway
The exterior of the home should be one of grandeur. You want to walk slowly around and up to the home, enjoying the wonderful details and materials. But rather than the classic pebble or stone pathway, how about a grass walkway instead? A lawn pathway leading up to the house is much more subtle on the feet. You don’t hear the brash coarseness of the stone or pebbles grinding together. Nonetheless, just like a classic walkway, you need to have a border. Every traditional home has a sense of calm order to it. A brick border is a great choice, as it adds height to the walkway, leading you safely in one direction or the other. Be creative and swerve the walkway rather than make a b-line for the front door.
A Little Vintage
Traditional and vintage often get confused for being the same, but there’s a definite difference. Vintage is more so of the post-war era, while traditional homes are pre-war. However, they have found a way to coincide as these traditional homes material suppliers have shown. Take a look at the vintage wood panels which will bring charming appeal to your exterior. If you don’t want your home to be brown or blue, this classy ash shade will bring your home’s curb image to a new height. With this choice of panel, the white and black outside your home will look so much more vivid. If you have white columns or gate pillars, they will stand out more. If you have a black door or black lamps hanging outside your front porch, they will possess more definition. Ash is a happy medium between blue, brown and beige, as it will look lighter than blue at night but not dark and dull either.
Minding your Business
Traditional homes offer so much more in the way of privacy than contemporary homes do. Tall privacy trees are a great addition to your back garden, as they will shield you from prying eyes but look fantastic from the outside. They will also allow you to use your swimming pool or conservatory without the sun heating the water or floors up. For your front garden, you can add hedgerows which should be carved neatly to give your home a smooth and groomed look.
Many traditional homes wouldn’t dare to have any other color except white, blue or brown. However, vintage ash is just as spectacular and charming.
