Hello World! Welcome Friends! When your home is clean, it removes a lot of reasons for bugs to stay. Pests tend to habitat areas that make them comfortable, so a clean home is one of the best things to keep them away. Even if you do regular cleanings, here are a few areas that you might miss.
Why It Matters
Residential Pest Control agencies are often called out to homes that are in less than stellar condition. On the surface level, these homes are the perfect place to find bugs. But the other calls are to homes that are in pristine condition, yet have serious pest control issues. That is a sign that somewhere in the home, there is a space that is missing a little bit of care. Judging a home by its looks alone is not a good way to gauge whether it is a hotbed for bugs. Cleanliness is tricky, and missing a few spots is nothing outside of the ordinary.
Bathrooms
A hot steamy shower feels good but can have some nasty after effects if you’re not careful. Do you have a bathroom with no window in it? Or do you have a bathroom with bad ventilation? Both of these things can cause mildew to form in the bathroom. And more importantly, these damp conditions are inviting to the most common pests in the world. Keep your bathroom well ventilated by keeping the door open after a shower. Invest in a good bathroom mat and spare towel to keep the floor dry. There are plenty of products in the bathroom isle dedicated to keeping your bathroom clean. Try them all, and stick with the ones that do the best job possible.
Kitchen
One of the most alarming things in the world is moving your stove from its space and discovering it is a habitat for bugs. There are homeowners that have lived on a lot for over a decade and never moved their stove. Cleaning around and on top of it is not the same as cleaning behind it. That means you could have a stove that looks pristine on the outside but hides a complete jungle once it is moved. Since so much food and bacteria lives in the kitchen, a thorough cleaning is always recommended to keep bugs out. Don’t leave dishes in the sink at night, and don’t forget to clean behind appliances.
Shed
Your shed is right by your home, so keeping it clean should be your top priority. Whatever pests live in your shed will have a direct line of sight to your actual home. Once the shed runs out of food, guess what their next stop will be? When you mow the grass, empty the bag before putting it back in the shed. And when you finish grilling, make sure everything is completed wiped down before putting it back in the shed. Basically, keep the cleanliness up in your shed just like you would do in your home.
Keep It Clean
Pest control is easy to manage when you keep your home clean. Stay diligent with the routine, and pests will think twice about invading your space. A home is an investment, and not a playground for bugs to have their way.
