Hello World! Welcome Friends! The laundry room is one room in the house that seldom sees upgrades. It’s not that visible, especially when it concerns visitors. However, it is a room that sees a lot of use. If you have very many children, particularly grade school children, you’re going to be doing a lot of laundry. Having an upgraded laundry room makes all of these chores so much easier. Here are a few key areas where upgrades in your laundry room can make a difference.
Smart Appliances
With today’s technologically driven populace, having smart applications built into your appliances just makes sense. Whether you’re talking about your washing machine, dryer or both, you can find smart appliances. These appliances can be connected to your smartphone via an application. Once connected, you can be notified when cycles are complete and when it is time to change your laundry. You can even remotely re-start an appliance if needed. Find a discount store that can help you out if you are looking for dryers or washing machines Massachusetts.
Utility Sink
A utility sink is also an often-overlooked amenity for a laundry room. Most don’t have one, but they are very beneficial for homes that do have them. You can pre-soak your laundry. You can treat stains. You can hand wash your delicates. It’s also useful for rinsing out the laundry detergent cup. A Utility Sink is a nice addition if you have room in your budget.
Storage
Most laundry rooms can benefit from some built-in storage options. Adding cabinets and cupboards is a great way to make the laundry room a multi-purpose area. Not only can you store washing detergent, stain treatment, dryer sheets and bleach, you can also store arts and crafts, wrapping paper and other odds and ends.
Laundry Chute
If you have bedrooms upstairs but your laundry room is downstairs, a fun addition to your house is a laundry chute. A laundry chute makes the chore of carrying your dirty laundry downstairs much more palatable. Simply open a door for the chute, drop the dirty laundry in, and have a laundry basket waiting downstairs.
Countertops
Having plenty of countertops in your laundry room is a must. As each load gets finished in the dryer and you pull it out, it’s very nice to have lots of space to sort and fold the clothing. When the laundry room is not in use, this space can also serve double duty as an area to do arts and crafts and wrap gifts.
While a laundry room is a utilitarian space in the home, it is also an essential room. Upgrade it today to make your chores more fun.

Our laundry room is upstairs so it’s near all the bedrooms and the bulk of the clothing. We did recently upgrade our washing machine and I am loving some of the brand new features they’ve added back in; like deep water wash, an agitator, and other features that kind of pair the old school washers with the ones from 5 or so years ago that were so “energy efficient” that we found were just not getting our clothes clean.

Thanks for stopping by, Joanne! I’m glad they have started to add the old features back in the washers. No point in being energy efficient if the clothes aren’t getting clean. Hope you have a great rest of the week.

Thank you for highlighting the often-overlooked importance of upgrading the laundry room. Smart appliances offer convenience with remote monitoring and control, while a utility sink adds versatility for pre-soaking and stain treatment. Ample storage options and countertops enhance functionality, making the room more organized and efficient. A laundry chute is a fun and practical addition for multi-story homes, streamlining the process of transporting laundry. These upgrades can truly transform the laundry room into a more functional and enjoyable space for daily chores.
