Hello World! Welcome Friends! I have tried several robot vacuums in the past. And while I generally like them, I always found something not to my liking and eventually abandoned using the robot vacuum. For the past two weeks I have been experimenting with the yeedi Vac Max which is a vacuum with a mopping function. This is my first time using one of the combination vacuums and I have to admit I was a little skeptical. Well, I am skeptical no more.
Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
Smart Phone App
After receiving the yeedi and unpacking the essentials, I added my robot to the yeedi app. The app makes it easier to control the robot vacuum from my phone as opposed to using a remote control or the controls on the robot itself. I found the app option to be very user friendly.
Mapping Technology
Out of all of the robot vacuums I have used, the yeedi exhibited the best mapping technology. The robot learned the plan of my home and didn’t just stay in one section like other vacuums had. If I didn’t want it to go into a particular room, I simply closed the door or used the app to tell it to stay away from that space. After it learned my home, it remembered the map and stuck to it. You can control where you want the robot to go by tapping the map on the yeedi app. You can choose a room or a particular area in your home that you want to focus on cleaning just by using the map in the yeedi app.
Furniture Clearance
My number one pet peeve of other vacuums I have tried is that often times they would get stuck under furniture and I would have to jump up to rescue the robot from underneath a sofa. This is the main reason why I have abandoned the robot vacuums to begin with. My furniture is not considered low to the ground, but there were two pieces of furniture the other vacuums would get stuck under. And, of course it happened quite frequently enough to be a huge nuisance.
With the yeedi, I was pleasantly surprised. In the two weeks I used the robot vacuum it did not get stuck at all! Such a huge win for me and yeedi.
Mopping Feature
This was the first time I used a vacuum with a mopping feature. I wasn’t sure if I would like this feature, but overall I was pleased. It comes with mopping pads that you can toss in the washer when the robot has finished the mopping. Again, this feature can be controlled from the app on your phone.
Accessibility
The robot has a thin lid on top that lifts up to access the power button and the canister that catches all of the dirt. The canister was easy to remove and dump the contents. In the picture below, you can see that you pull up on the handle which removes the canister after running the robot. As you can see, there is a space that holds a brush that helps to clean out the rotating brush and the under carriage of the device.
My Favorite Feature
My all-time favorite feature is that is is quiet!! Since I work from home, I get annoyed with hearing appliances running in the background. All of the other vacuums I have tried were much louder than the yeedi. The yeedi was much quieter and did not disrupt my train of thought. Plus it did help that I didn’t have to rescue it from getting stuck under furniture!
Recommendation
Would I recommend the yeedi? Yes, I would. If you haven’t tried a Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, I would definitely give the yeedi a go.
