Tips to Make your Dining Room Dinner Party Ready

While you can invest in a menu that will suit any theme you desire; your dining room can have a wonderful effect on your guests and their impression of your home. Here are some tips to spruce up your dining room before the party begins.

Choose the right chairs for your table

Whether your table is made of metal or oak, be prepared to have the right chairs that can provide comfort to your guests as well as look elegant alongside your table and tablecloth. Your table will become the focal point of your room, and it is up to you whether you wish it to be stylish, rustic, modern or quirky.

Space and Size

Not only can your table and chairs become a focal point of elegance, but they can also provide an obstacle for your guests to get around. It is up to you to judge the size and shape of your table and chairs. Can your guests move around the room without the table and chairs either blocking their path or becoming an obstacle? If this is the case, then you may wish to consider investing in a smaller set. You may also consider the shape of your table altogether. Tables can come in different shapes, such as circles, rectangles, squares or even triangles. Do not forget the theme of your room when picking out the right furniture. You do not want it to look out of place.

Lighting

It is important to remember that lighting can play an important role in the atmosphere of your dining room and party. Whether this includes large, atmospheric windows in the overall wall structure of your room, as these can also give you a wonderful view of the moon and night sky as well as natural lighting during the day, or colored lamps around the room. Be sure to find something that will suit the thematic of your room. Will you have soft golden lighting, or would you prefer something a bit spicier with colored bulbs? You can even invest in small moveable lamps that are multicolored and can change color with a remote control.

Ideas of Elegance

While you can indulge in the elegance of glass wine glasses, marble cutlery, matching plate sets and simple table clothes, try and pick a single color that you can design your party around. A recommended color for all seekers of elegance is white. The color white presents a canvas that will match your china and remain bright even in the late hours of the night. You can even base your color scheme on a festival or holiday. For Christmas consider red table clothes or green plates, and for autumn, spooky it up with some black candelabras, orange plates, and crystal wine glasses. You can even add some fake cobwebs to dust around your table for that extra “haunted” effect.
