Hello World! Welcome Friends! Moving houses or offices is always exciting, but at the same time, it can be very exhausting. Especially if you have a lot of things to pack, it might prove to be overwhelming if you don’t get the appropriate help.
How far you’re moving away can also have an impact on how smooth and easy the process will be. Will you be simply driving across states, or will you be moving abroad–in which case you’ll need to look at shipping equipment? How do you handle fragile items and keep them secure throughout transit?
In this case, here are some handy tips you could use to ensure your valued fragile items get to your new location safe and sound.
Get the Right Packing Equipment
Before you even think about transportation, you should first take care of the packaging. Especially when handling framed art or photos, you need to make sure that their wrapping will be sturdy enough to protect it against damage. Secure the bubble wrap by sealing it with tape. If it’s a large frame, you can reinforce it around the edges by adding cardboard covers to add further protection to the corners. Professional services would usually provide special crates for these.
First, you should wrap the frame first with paper, and then with bubble wrap. Then, don’t forget to leave a mark indicating which side is up so the glass won’t be placed facing down. Ideally, it should be placed in a box that fits the frame right; don’t pack it at an angle, in between other miscellaneous items.
For smaller trinkets and displays, it’s best to wrap them individually, or if possible keep them together in a smaller box or container. For larger pieces, it’s best to get specialty boxes to get the perfect fit.
Ensure Box Security
Once you’ve arranged the items inside the box, try carrying it around first and simulate movement in transport. If the items inside tend to move around inside because of extra space, try filling it up with stuffers; you don’t want to overstuff the box as well as it might break or damage the items inside. This should also help to add cushioning inside the box, thereby protecting it further from damage.
When sealing the box, check that the opening on both ends is taped firmly. Use the appropriate packaging tape to ensure that they will be able to hold the box together. When moving the box from one point to another, check that you, or the haulers, are holding it the right side up; put a marking on the side of the box to indicate which is which.
Get Proper Transportation
The last crucial part of handling fragile valuables is to get the right kind of transportation. For a large-scale move overseas, you’ll have to look at shipping and cargo services to take care of your items. Even if it’s just across towns or states, it’s still highly recommended that you get professional services that can deliver the job right.
Whatever your items are, keep them secured during transport as you move. With professional services helping out, you can rest easy knowing that your valuables are in good hands and that they will get to your new place intact.
