Hello World! Okay, I must catch you up to speed on what’s been happening with the paint job. So, we had a paint debacle about a week ago. I had popped into my local Ace Hardware to pick up a slightly darker gray paint for the kitchen, hearth room, etc. So, the girl that helped me was super flustered and didn’t seem to really be familiar with the paint department. Well, she mixed the wrong color, and I didn’t check it out before I started painting. Sooo, I ended up rushing back to Ace and fortunately the manager mixed the right shade of gray for me at no extra expense for me. Whew!
Benjamin Moore Marina Gray
I painted the teeny tiny hallway that connects the front of the house to the back of the house. There is no light in this little hall, so I wanted to make sure I could somehow bring in some light without actually paying an electrician to add lighting. Hence the mirrors. I have plans to add more, but these mirrors were good to go. I have four more mirrors that I want to add, but I need to spray paint them.
This is the tiny little hall. The 1/2 bath is off of this little hall and the door you see here is to the downstairs air conditioner. I will say it is nice having two a/c units, one for downstairs and one for upstairs.

Look at the tinges of gray and blue in the details.
This mirror is on the wall with the bathroom door. This was my mother’s mirror and I talked her into giving it to me. Thanks mom.
It has such pretty little details. It’s reflecting the other mirrors across the hall and a little sliver of the Family Room which still needs to be painted.
I’ve always hung these mirrors vertically, but I decided to change it up and hang them horizontally. See the furniture in the reflection? I still need to show this to you. I bought it back in July and haven’t quite settled on a styled look yet.

I still need to get the hearth room painted which begins where the wood flooring is in the picture.
Trust me when I tell you, the day I took pictures I had great light coming in the front and the back of the house, but usually this little hall is dark. I’ll keep you posted on when I get the other mirrors painted and hung. Next week, I want to show you how I’m decorating some old books to use in my decor. And, I might just show you the new piece of furniture that is in the foyer. Oh, and I ordered a couch and two end tables. LOL. I’ve been saving my money for quite some time and I pulled the trigger on Monday. When they come in, I’ll snap some pics in their natural state before they get placed and styled.

Kathryn, I bet the mirrors make a big difference in your dark hallway and they look great! We have spots in our house that are dark too and I just keep adding mirrors. It helps and adds a little sparkle.
