Hello World! Welcome Friends! How is everyone doing? Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? And, here’s the big question, have you started decorating for Christmas? We have one tree up with no ornaments on it. I have been putting all of my energy and time on the Study and the Dining Room. Yes, I started painting in the Dining Room as well! You remember last week when I shared my Entry Hall update; well I thought let’s just get the Dining Room painted before I decorate for Christmas. You know how it goes, one thing begets another.
As far as the Study Furniture, the delay is all due to one piece of furniture and some fabric that I special ordered to use to make a pillow. It’s looking like delivery might take place the day after Thanksgiving! Might…here’s hoping. So, today I thought I would share The Study Accessories Plan with you. I haven’t purchased any new Accessories just yet. To be honest, I’m waiting on the furniture to arrive so I can get a good idea of the direction I want to go with the accessories. Also, my curtain panels were not long enough, so my Mom (aka Betty Lou) and I went fabric and trim shopping. She has graciously agreed to add the coordinating fabric and trim we found to the existing panels because I do not enjoy sewing. The trim is oh, my, goodness gorgeous!
Here is a refresher of the Study prior to our move in.
She’s got great bones, but just needs a lot of pretty. All of the painting has been finished except for a bit of the ceiling. The new light fixture is in, but we just have not had time to get that sucker hung. It’s on our list to do Thanksgiving weekend because this weekend we are heading to New Orleans to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. So, here is what I pulled together for the Study Accessories.
In the graphic above, I’ve added the fabrics that we are using as well as the possible rug choice to aid as a color guide for the rest of the accessories. The only fabric I don’t have a picture of is the fabric we are using to add extra length to the curtain panels. The mirror is probably going to go above the piano. However, I’m not quite sure if I want a mirror above the piano opposite the window. We’ll see. I have pulled 4 other pieces of wall art that I have in my decor stash that I might use throughout the room, but I may end up buying one of these wall art selections. I like both selections of lamps that I picked, but I think it will probably end up being the solid gold ones. Oh, the decisions.
And, just in case you forgot, here is the Study Plan below with paint, furniture, fabric, rug and chandelier.
