Hello World! Welcome Friends! If you are looking to remodel your bathroom, then you want to do it properly. It would be a shame to go through that lengthy process just to discover that you’re not really happy with the results. With that in mind, here is a checklist of what you should do with the bathroom remodel no matter what your remodel plan is like.
Is There Enough Storage Space?
You will want to include adequate storage in your bathroom remodel plan. It could be an out-of-the-way storage setup, where you use cupboards built into the bottom of the sink or over the sink and on the wall. You can also use towel racks, hanging racks, and other wall storage to keep your bathroom items out of the way. If there isn’t much room in the bathroom, you may want to put your bathroom storage just outside, in a hallway or adjoining room.
Is There Enough Light?
This is something that often gets overlooked when remodeling any room, and the bathroom is no exception. You may get plenty of natural light from a window in the bathroom, but then what about at night? There should be lighting over the sink and by the mirror so that you can see what you are doing there at all times of day. Consider a soft light option as well to leave a light on at night for late bathroom visits.
Does It Have a Theme?
Not everyone thinks about the theme of the bathroom or how everything after the remodel will work together. You may want to consider a unified color scheme and a central décor theme. This will help create an attractive bathroom that is pleasant to spend time in, and it will keep your various bathroom parts from clashing with one another.
Did I Account for Spills?
You may have some ideas about carpets or mats in the bathroom, but have you planned for water spills in there? Even if you are careful, what about other family members? If you have visiting family or other guests, will they always be careful? You may have kids in your bathroom at some point, and they tend to leave a mess behind sometimes, so you want to take that into account as you plan your floor coverage.
What’s the Cleanup Plan?
After the remodel is done, how do you plan to tidy up? For minor remodels, you can probably clean everything up on your own, but for major ones, you should probably call in a cleaning service. Most maids offer remodel cleanup, helping you with moving debris and getting rid of the dust and dirt left behind by the work.
What Is the Budget?
You probably have big dreams for your bathroom remodel, but what is realistic? Do some shopping around for the items you are wanting to install there and see if you can actually afford them. You may want to add in one fixture at a time rather than doing the entire bathroom at once, just to make it affordable.
