Hello World! Welcome Friends! We are not going to try and sugar-coat things, moving house is one of the most stressful events in life that you will experience. This might sound like an exaggeration, but for anyone who has already been through the process, you will know exactly what we mean.
There are a whole host of reasons behind this, with solicitors tending to be one of the main stress sources. However, if you drill down into the process, there are ways in which you can reduce the amount of stress involved in a house move. Through today’s article, we will investigate some of these.

You need to build leeway into your move dates
First and foremost, never take dates for granted during this period. Your solicitor might give you an implication that you are going to move on one day, but make sure you give yourself some leeway around this.
For example, if you are currently renting a property, don’t let the tenancy expire on the day you are meant to move. There is every chance that something can go wrong, particularly if you are involved in a chain, and the last thing you need is to be made temporarily homeless.
You can help yourself with furniture
It may have taken you weeks to put together, but now is the time to take some of your prized flatpack furniture apart again. Unfortunately, this is the only way that you are first going to fit it through the door, and secondly keep the costs of transporting these items down.
To make your life easier at the other end, find an Atlanta furniture assembly contractor to help you along. If you know that you only have to move the furniture, and someone else will take care of the assembly, it will do wonders for your stress levels.
Sort your paperwork out months in advance
Something that a lot of people forget is the paperwork aspect of moving home. No, we’re not referring to legal issues, but more the post that will be flowing through your older letterbox. Ultimately, how does it start to find its way to you?
The answer is that you need to update the companies sending you mail, or you need to setup a mail redirect. Either way, sort it out months in advance, and not when things are coming to a head near the move date.
Treat this as a decluttering moment
Granted, you will need to start planning a little earlier to facilitate this final tip, but don’t feel as though you have to move each and every item in your home. In truth, you don’t have to, and this can be the perfect opportunity to declutter and ultimately rid your life of all of those items that you no longer require.
Scour room by room and pick out the things that you no longer require. If you haven’t used it in the last year, it should be sent to the scrap pile, or at least for donation. Doing this will naturally reduce the number of things you need to physically move, and probably slash your costs in the process.
