Hello World! Welcome Friends! Don’t you just, love this season? Go ahead and look out the window. What do you see? A bright sky? A cloudless tableau of blue punctuated by a proud sun? Blades of grass, lush and verdant reaching to the heavens? Trees and bushes which were once limp and skeletal now alive with bursts of color? While this is the perfect season to get out more, see friends, enjoy the weather and shake off the last of those winter blues, it’s also the perfect time to look at some of the more neglected aspects of the home. While you’ve probably already done some spring cleaning and found deposits of dust in parts of the house you forgot even existed, cleared the home of psychologically damaging clutter and even made the windows crystal clear and sparkling, there’s one part of your home you probably haven’t considered… Your roof!
While we may not get to see our roof it remains an integral part of the home’s safety and security and now that the weather is fair, it’s the perfect time to pop up the ladder for a brief inspection. Look after your roof now and you’ll enjoy a refreshing cool in the sunnier months and reassuring warmth in winter. Check out these tips for safely inspecting your roof and pay particular attention to…
Your shingles
Your shingles play a huge part in not just the efficacy but the appearance of your roof. Check that your shingles have not been dislodged by the inclement weather of winter and look out for any which might have been damaged or cracked. This may also be the perfect time to give the roof a much needed upgrade. If your shingles are looking worse for wear you might want to look into designer shingle options. Designer shingles (or architectural shingles) not only make your roof look prettier, they offer greater wind resistance, carry a lifetime warranty period and allow for greater versatility of design (hence the name).
Your attic insulation
Your home may be lovely, warm and toasty now, but unbeknownst to you, your attic space could be infested with rodents or water damage which could seriously compromise its efficacy. Checking your attic insulation is a fairly quick and easy process but one that could save you a lot of money on your heating bills over the next few years. Look for damp patches, black marks, mold or water stains as these may indicate a leak from the roof. You should also look for bite marks and rodent droppings. If you see these, your insulation will need to be replaced. It’s also a good idea to put some humane rodent traps up there, too.
Gutter talk
Now that the ravages of fall and winter are well and truly over, it’s the perfect time to check your gutters. Remove any clumps of dead leaves or general debris to ensure a smooth flow of water in the coming months. While spring is a time of fair weather, let’s not forget about those sweet spring showers which can cause water build up in the guttering which could lead to leakage.
When your roof is spring ready, you’ll enjoy the benefits all year round!

We are going to need one probably in the next 5 years or so. It’s a not so fun project, but it is so important! Thanks for popping by! Have a great start to the weekend.

Summer season brings rains and storms with it which can ruin your roof. To make your roof ready for the spring season, you have to first examin its condition.

It’s important to make sure your roof is ready. A damaged roof can mean costly leaks.
