Hello World! Welcome Friends! There are a million things that can go wrong in a kitchen remodeling project. The main problem with renovating this room is the fact that it needs to be both functional and visually pleasing. Many people make the mistake of prioritizing the design in detriment of the functionality, which can cause a lot of problems in the future. Moreover, if you don’t plan everything right from the start, you might end up wasting a lot of money. That being said, check out our smart strategies for a successful kitchen remodel.
1. How to stay within your budget
While a renovation budget needs to be rather flexible to accommodate unexpected situations, everyone starts with a certain budget in mind, and if you want to avoid overspending, you need to follow a few simple rules. First of all, decide on your priorities. Do you need to replace the whole furniture or can you make do with just a cabinet repaint? Do you need new appliances? Do you need a more functional layout? Once you establish your needs, it is time to visit some showrooms, to get an estimate of the overall cost and see if it matches your budget. To save some money, we advise you to keep your existing pipe structure, because it will cost you a lot of money to move water and gas lines, and it doesn’t make sense to do this just for aesthetic reasons
2. How to choose the perfect design
When it comes to aesthetics, it is important to focus on timeless designs, because nobody can really afford to remodel the kitchen very often just to keep up with the trends. Moreover, to avoid an identity crisis, keep in mind the overall architectural style of your home. If you have a very old home, a very modern kitchen will crash with the existing design, and vice versa. You must also avoid basing your design choices just on material samples. So, we advise you to work with a kitchen visualizer to see how different colors, materials and finishes go together. Our advice is to work with a reputable team of contractors like KBR Kitchen and Bath. They have a great kitchen visualizer tool on their website. Moreover, their team includes experts from different fields that can help you with any part of the renovation process.
3. Space and storage planning
To make sure that your kitchen will easily accommodate all your cooking adventures, plan for at least 40″ of counter space for food preparation, 20″ on each side of the sink. Moreover, plan a comfortable traffic pattern, and make sure people can easily walk between the furniture and the dining table or the kitchen isle. Furthermore, don’t neglect the importance of the storage space in the kitchen. Unless you have a pantry, make sure to use all available vertical spaces, such as unused walls and the insides of different cabinets. You can also consider mounting cabinets all the way up to the ceiling, in order to store items that you use very rarely.
A full kitchen remodel is a daunting task; so be sure to plan wisely to accommodate the needs of your family.

Kathyryn, I must say you have the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen. Also, I agree with you about the plumbing. It can be very costly to move out it around, so doing that to change where your sink it not a frugal move. Now, if there is something wrong with your plumbing, then by all means, get it fixed. However, leave the plumbing and gas out of it if you can. Maybe you don’t love where your sink is, but maybe you would change your mind if it where a different sink altogether. Challenge yourself to do the most with your budget. Also, premakover, take everything out of your kitchen and only keep the stuff you really use. You would be amazed at how different your kitchen will feel without all of that clutter. Happy singing!
