Hello World! Welcome Friends! Keeping a home tidy and clean isn’t an easy feat. Even the most organized and diligent people have moments when they feel like their space is falling apart. And that’s okay! However, most of us can attest to the satisfying and refreshing feeling of a lovely, clean home.
Keeping on top of your space is not a permanent solution but rather something we need to work on continuously. However, if you find yourself in a rut with your living quarters, here are some strategies for a fresh start.

Ditch the Clutter
The best way to get your home back on track is to declutter and start with a clean slate. Start with one room and create piles of things that need to be thrown away, donated, or recycled. Determine the items that should go and the items that need to stay in the room. Continue this with each room in the home. This process of making piles will help you see the true state of your surroundings and will be a great motivator to keep up with decluttering going forward.
There are a lot of different ways to declutter. Another method is to make sure each item in your home has a useful purpose, brings you happiness, or adds to the home’s beauty. If it doesn’t, get rid of it!
Out With the Old
It is understandable that not everyone has the time or resources to completely declutter and organize a home full of belongings. If that is the case, here are the things you should be throwing out in your house right now.
- Expired Goods – Foods, medicines, and other perishables left unused beyond their expiration dates can be harmful to ingest. Throw out any expired perishables in your fridge, pantry, cabinets, and medicine drawers.
- Old Washing Machine and Dryer Detergent – Detergents are made with chemicals and ingredients that are great for cleaning clothes. However, after a certain amount of time, these ingredients won’t be as effective. This could result in smelly clothing and even the risk of skin irritation.
- Stinky Towels – As your towels age, they tend to absorb more water and less of the minerals needed to get them smelling fresh. This can lead to a smelly and icky towel. Check in on the state of your towels every so often and monitor their need for replacement.
Out with the old and in with the new!
