Hello World! Welcome Friends! We have been doing some furniture shifting upstairs and decided to turn the smallest room into Chloe’s hangout den. The main reason for this is to contain all of her stuff and if the room is messy :), simply close the door if we are short on time to clean. Previously all of her toys and Legos were in the upstairs family room which does not have a door. It is wide open and a portion of the room can be seen from downstairs. Oh, and I have been informed by our sweet, 10 year old that we can no longer call it a Playroom, hence the Hangout Den.
A typical day, Cozi trying to escape the loving arms of Chloe.
The only thing I have done decor wise was to paint the walls and the trim. There is no artwork on the walls and no curtains hung. Right now, I’m just happy to have the room painted. Before we jump into the room refresh, let’s take a look at where we began.
The door in the picture heads to the Jack and Jill bath which I’m currently painting. I really hate painting bathrooms. I digress, bright blue paint which was a lot darker in person. Combined with the sloped ceiling, the space seems somewhat cramped.
The new color is Sherwin Williams Reflection 7661.
Once inside the room, the door on the left leads out into the upstairs Family Room and the door to the right is the closet. The window is opposite the tv and the Jack and Jill bath is to the left. This section of storage houses little toys, stuffed animals, and a space to show off her Lego creations.
Her Lego storage carts are just outside the door in the upstairs Family Room. There just wasn’t any room here in her Den for the carts.
Chloe’s little rocking chair is being used by her favorite stuffed Elephant. This section of the cubbies houses her art supplies, markers that have been colored coordinated, and craft supplies.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you, Chloe styled her Den and I was told I couldn’t rearrange anything. Love that girl! Anyhoo, on this wall, the storage units fit perfectly underneath the sloped ceiling. These cubbies house some crafts, stuffed animals, and American Girl Doll storage.
Little shoes placed neatly in rows.
Here’s a tip for you: to hang American Girl Doll clothes, get a small tension rod and place in the cubby. The American Girl Doll hangers fit perfectly on the tension rod.
The other cubbies house accessories, tights, bloomers, hats, and shoes.
Sweet, little babies!
Chloe’s old high chair is now being used in the Hangout Den.
This is Logan! Isn’t he just the cutest?
This is the rocking chair I used when Chloe was a baby. She asked if she could use it in her Hangout Den along with her Pottery Barn Pom Pom blanket.
The chest is my old toy chest from 1000 years ago and houses extra blankets and pillows to be used when Chloe and her friends want to pile up on the floor and watch a movie.
I wanted to put the kitchen on top of the toy chest, but Chloe insisted that it stay on the floor, because this is one of the spots where little, Cozi likes to lounge when she visits the den.
Look at the sweet little pet food drawer that pulls out.
I don’t even have a fancy mixer. LOL
Chloe and Cozi say, “Thanks for stopping by the Hangout Den”.
Chloe is super excited to hear what you have to say about her new space. Leave a comment below and I will pass them onto her.

I think she did a wonderful job of styling her den! And I love the paint color, the room looks much larger. She is very well organized now. What a neat idea about hanging the American Girl clothes!

Thanks, Joan! There was a slight objection on her part because she was downsizing. LOL. In the end, she loves it.

Great styling, Chloe! I love how you saved room for Cozi’s favorite place to hang with you! I bet no one’s ever told you that you look just like your mom, have they? 😉 I have lots of sun kisses (freckles) too! XO

My daughter would always complain that her little brother crash her lego house always. I wish I could get something like this for her . And she will definitely fly without wings if I got those American Girl set. Thank you for sharing in Fiesta Friday.
