Hello World! Welcome Friends! There’s a lot to love about living in a big city. The conveniences right at your doorstep are really nice when you’re living a busy life. And the access to cultural events makes you more likely to partake in a night at the theater or a museum. These things are not nearly as accessible when you live in the suburbs or the country.
The problem is the tradeoff for many people is not worth it. There is a lot of noise, crowds, and traffic. Life is far more stressful in a city than in the country so having those conveniences loses its value. There are now a lot of alternatives in which you can live with those city conveniences while being closer to nature in developments like house and land packages Fletcher Australia.
We’ll go over some of the reasons that you may want to live outside the city and ditch the fast-paced city life for something more tranquil.
It’s More Sustainable
It used to be that cities were actually more sustainable because in big suburban houses resources get wasted. In a more concentrated setting, there are fewer emissions per capita than in the suburbs. However, this is starting to change.
For starters, fewer people are commuting long distances to get to work in the city. Either they work from home now, or they have found work closer to home. This cuts down on one’s carbon footprint in a major way.
The lifestyle is also more sustainable when you live in the country. You are more likely to do things like reuse materials in your garden that would normally end up in a landfill if you lived in the city.
And new houses are made out of more energy-efficient materials than they were in the past. In fact, many homes can heat and cool themselves passively. Even when you live in a house that is old, there is less need to cool it down in the summer as temperatures in the city are stifling while in the country it is usually much cooler.
More Space
City dwellers didn’t usually miss the space too much since the city is a sort of living room. They don’t spend as much time at home so the lack of space didn’t really matter.
Until Covid-19 hit and suddenly too much time was spent in a tiny apartment.
Now it is more important than ever to have some space outside where you can enjoy time not sitting in your cramped apartment. Plus having extra space within the house is really nice. This can really only happen when you move out of the city as a bigger apartment in the city is usually not economically feasible for most people.
It’s Less Expensive
In general, you are going to spend less money by living outside the city. You’ll get more living space with a mortgage that can be cheaper than your rent. Now, you will spend more on things like automobile expenses and even heating your house if you live in a cold area. But, in general, you will pay far less for your housing costs than in the city.
