Hello World! Welcome Friends! It goes without saying that your home needs to be protected, and your family needs to feel secure. We needn’t list reason after reason as to why this is so. However, when trying to apply this to your own household, it can sometimes be confusing to see just what you need. Do you really need to install that security camera system totalling thousands of dollars if you live in a nice area with a very low crime rate? Just how many locks should you have on your doors? How can you dissuade thieves from paying attention to your property if you hope to leave your home unattended for a matter of weeks or even months?
These are important questions to ask, because they can help you start thinking in the shoes of someone who may consider your home to be valuable. Of course, this can be an uncomfortable thought exercise, but ultimately it is useful to help you notice the weak spots of your property. In order to help you avoid considering the harm your home may be open to (as it’s never nice to do so), we’ve done the thinking for you, and will help you consider a few places to inspect, considering every risk, in order to assist you in protecting your home.
Please, consider our advice to this end:
Garage Doors
A garage door, weak and poorly installed, can quite literally open a wide and somewhat welcoming entrance to your home. If the door between your property and garage is also less-than-secure, you may have a gaping security vulnerability there. That’s not even mentioning the potential for intensive weather effects or the potential for vehicle damage that grows with a weak door like this. With excellent garage door repair or installation, you can ensure that this is a secure and reliable part of your home.
Side Alleys
Many homes, especially in residential areas, will have hidden side alleys and ginnels that can allow someone to encroach on your property, especially at night, with minimal visibility. Installing motion floodlights in this area, or a security camera, or preferably both can ensure that your home is not vulnerable to those hoping to get a closer look. This way, suspicious activity can be identified and protected against.
Tools To Help Entry
Do your best to avoid aiding those who may be looking for an opportunistic means to enter your property. For instance, if you leave to head to the cinema with your partner one evening, you leave your bathroom window open, and there’s a ladder located in your back garden? Well, it’s not hard to see how those can combine and not in the best way. This also goes for burglar alarms not activated, or garden path archways that prevent visibility, or perhaps even preventing your dog from barking at strange activity outside the house through intensive training or having them situated in one room while you’re out. Little variables like this example can add up to make it easier for anyone to enter your property, even if it’s as simple as leaving your driveway gate unlocked.
With this advice, we hope you can protect your home against every possible risk.
