Hello World! Welcome Friends! I know it has been quite awhile since I have shared a post about the house progress and decor. Yesterday while I was putting on the final touches to my tablescape for the 4th of July festivities, I grabbed my camera on a whim and decided to photograph the setting.
Patriotic Tablescape for Fourth of July
I chose to dress up the breakfast room table instead of the dining room. Our meal on the 4th usually happens early afternoon and it’s lovely to sit here and have a view of the water.
I had the majority of items on hand, but I did purchase the little gingham stars and red, white, and blue twine that is on the table from Hobby Lobby. When we eat, I’ll move the centerpiece over to the buffet and move the taper candles over to one side of the table. I set the table for six, but we will only be a party of four this year.
I am so out of practice using my DSLR. I’m not the best photographer and windows really throw me for a loop.
I wanted the centerpiece to be more wild and much less formal. The little Red, White and Blue picks were a Hobby Lobby purchase as well.
Can we talk about the gold candle holders? These were purchased from Amazon last year. I used them in my Christmas Mantel design. I love how elegant they look and how lightweight they are. They are definitely one of my favorite purchases from Amazon!
Sigh…Spode Blue Italian! I want to start using Blue Italian as my everyday dishes, but I haven’t found a china replacement that I love. Currently, our everyday dishes are the old blue and white Currier and Ives. They used to be my Great Aunt Carrie’s and I have loved them since I was a little girl. I don’t have the complete set of 12 and I really want to store them and use them occasionally.
The pretty wooden wreath, yes it’s wood, is from Hobby Lobby. And of course my Patriotic Jim Shore angel looks perfect in the vignette.
Now, for the pretty glow with the candles lit.
Let me catch you up real quick on the house progress. The primary bedroom is almost done! I still have to shop for sconces, lamps, artwork, bedding and curtains. I’m having a difficult time narrowing down the sconce choices. And, I found some Drexel Heritage chairs on Facebook Marketplace that I love. I just don’t know if they will coordinate well with the bedroom furniture.
Other Thoughts
I haven’t really been on social media for quite some time. I will pop on for a couple of minutes here and there, but nothing of significance. The culture has really shifted and I don’t think it is for the better…at least for me. However, I still look in on my favorite, inspirational accounts and friends. I want to live a more quiet and private life; and that doesn’t involve spending a ton of time on social media. I will share some of these photos on social media, but I probably won’t babysit them. I really feel like I’m getting old and cranky…lol.
I hope all of my American friends enjoy celebrating the Fourth of July! America is truly a beautiful and wonderful country…even with all of her flaws.
