Hello World! Welcome Friends! Here we are again with another weekly update on the Breakfast Nook. So much has come in that my foyer has turned into a warehouse of boxes. The stencil is coming along nicely, but I don’t want to show it to you in her unfinished state. I want you to see her all finished in her glory. I will tell you though, it will be spectacular! Let me show you what I have managed to get unpacked and put together. First up are these lamps from Overstock.
The Casa Cortes ‘Parisian Buffet’ Hand-Crafted Table Lamps
The blue fabric shades feature the prettiest embroidered details, while the bases are finished in an antique brass. These will go well with the curtain rods I ordered. More on that later.
I am on purpose not showing the breakfast nook in today’s post since I cannot get a picture without the stencil showing up! So, I put the lamps in my dining room to show them off to you.
The crystal adds such a nice touch to the lampstand.
Up next are two of the four bar stools I ordered from Joss & Main.
The other two will go on the other side of the bar on the breakfast room side.
To the left, you can see the plain bar stool just peeking above the couch. That is where the other two lovelies will go. The weathered gray legs, saddle seat, and nailhead trim created such a chic look.
They were deemed quite comfortable last night as we hosted our weekly Bible Study. I’m thankful for sweet people who don’t mind coming in weekly and checking out the progress of the breakfast nook and ignoring the mess of the space! See the black strip on top of the rung? That is a piece of black metal so that the wood doesn’t get marked up from shoes. I should have wiped it down before taking pictures, but alas, I didn’t.
Those legs are dreamy!
Below is the rest of the stuff.
The box to the left is the mirror and the three boxes to the right contain two more bar stools, and the chandelier. The rug came in this afternoon after I took pics. The only things we are waiting on are the curtain rods, finials, and panels.
Sheffield Pineapple Finials from Country Curtains in Antique Brass. I also ordered the adjustable rods from the Sheffield collection since both of the windows are different sizes.
I’m in love! In a world of cream and beige curtains, I just had to go against the grain and add some color. I ordered 4 pair since these are going in the family room as well. They are the Hatfield Lined Curtains from Country Curtains. They sent me a nice size swatch to hold up next to the new furniture and the stencil. I thought it might not do so well with the stencil, but I was wrong. It’s dreamy. The panels should get here on Friday, but as of today, the rods and finials haven’t shipped. I really hope they make it before the end of next week.
So, that is it for my weekly progress report.
Let me give you a refresh on the items that are currently sitting in boxes so you can visualize the space.
Be still my heart!
I’m looking forward to seeing the space with this gorgeous rug!
Last, but certainly not least, the chandelier!
For those who are popping in for the first time and wondering about the stencil I keep talking about…here is a progress shot from a couple of weeks ago.
If I have time, I want to add in a little red to the roses to pull the red in from the curtains. But, we’ll see. There are a lot of roses and that would take some time to accomplish free hand.
I would love for you to let me know your thoughts in the comment section below as we go through progress updates. And, if you want to make sure you are getting the latest updates each week, straight to your inbox without missing a single detail, you can sign up for my emails at the bottom of this post.
