Hello World! Happy Friday! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We are going car shopping! Eeeeee!!! Anyhoo, I thought I would show you the china hutch and let you help me make a decision on the fabric. Here are a couple of shots of the china hutch.
Nice, but boring.
Fabric choice #1 with a white pitcher in front.
Fabric choice #2 with another white pretty.
Fabric choice #2 with a little blue and white added in front of it.
There they are for a side by side comparison. My choice is fabric #2 on the left. The blue and white gets lost on the floral of fabric #1. What do you think? Which one do you like better.
Okay, I’ve got some major ideas rolling around in my brain for the blog that I would like to implement this coming week…that is, if I can get a little more time to work on them. So, stay tuned. Don’t forget about the Feather Hen custom pillow covers giveaway which is live. Click here to go to the giveaway. They really are quite lovely. Make it Pretty Monday will go live Monday at 8:00am CST, but if you want to see this week’s party click here.
Have a happy weekend and remember to be kind to one another! Fear Not!
Toodles,
Kathryn

What a beautiful cabinet; and both fabric choices are gorgeous! I would hate to choose! I know that whatever you decide will be wonderful! Have a great weekend!
Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions says
With the blue and white pieces, I have to agree that the plaid would probably work better, Kathryn. It does seem to get lost with the blue and white floral fabric. The white really looks great against both.
Cindy @ Dwellings-The Heart of Your Home says
Beautiful cabinet and both fabrics are pretty…can't wait to see it!!!
Blessings,

Recreate and Decorate says
Both are great, but fabric #2 is my fav!
Also couldn't help but notice your ceramic tile, looks just like mine! Are you in Florida .
Melanie says
I prefer the floral fabric. If you changed your pretty things in your cabinet around, it could work. Keep a few white pieces grouped together and then behind your blue china pieces you could stand a plain white plate or pop a simple linen doily under the blue china. The you could use the plaid fabric/paper on a tray somewhere around the room.
Christa @ Controlling Craziness says
I agree with you about fabric choice #2 being better since you can see the pieces better. However, I like the pattern in fabric choice #1 better, I think it looks really good with just the white pieces. Maybe use both? Have a shelf of just white pieces with fabric #1 and the mixed pieces (blue/white) on the shelves with fabric #2. But in the end you have to do what you like best.

Yes, the plaid! Follow your instinct! Very pretty …
Luisa Chandler says
I totally agree with you Kathryn!

I would vote for the floral fabric if you only had white china and ironstone to display. But the floral fabric, as much as I love it, doesn't work with blue transferware, so I'd vote for the second fabric! I can't wait to see the hutch when you're done.
Libby says
I have to agree with Melanie. I find #2 adds a country flavor that I don't see else where in your lovely home. I think if used in front of white pieces the blue ware will show up beautifully.
Carol says
I really like both fabrics, but #2 is a better backdrop for your lovely glass & china pieces — no competition.
Marcia Pilar says
I agree with Magali, I love the pattern on #1 if your were only displaying white pieces, but for your blue and white transferware the plaid words better. My favorite of all is that your china cabinet is NOT painted white. 🙂 Adds balance.

Love the look of the transferware against the plaid.

Beautiful china cabinet….love the fabric idea! Can't wait to see your progress on this.

Choice #2 is the perfect choice to show off your china. Your white pieces are gorgeous and so is your cabinet! Choice # 1 is my favorite fabric for curtains, pillows, dust ruffle. Toile is such a showoff. I am trying to do the same thing in my cabinet. You've led me in the right direction. Can't wait to see the finished cabinet. Will you cover cardboard and wedge it in behind? If not, how will you affix it?
Peace,

Beautiful cabinet. Love the fabric, but oh my the white pitcher caught my eye. How gorgeous! Whatever you do will be beautiful. Hugs, Karie

Hi Kathryn…coming to you from The Scoop linky party over at CHR. I love your fabrics but what caught my eye are the sweet white avian inspired pieces you have in front of the fabric….I have all three of those pieces as well and I love them! They are perfect for showing off the pretty material. I think I have to agree with your choice, the smaller print works with your pieces a little better.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
XO Barbara

Such a creative idea – cannot wait to see which one you choose. I like them both – hard decision!!
Bev Carter says
That is a hard decision, since they are both great fabrics. I am inclined to agree with you and go with fabric #2. Can't wait to see what you decide.
Have a great week,
Bev

That's a hard one! Fabric #1 is my favorite but it might get a bit busy so you're probably right on fabric #2!
Botanic Bleu says
One more vote for the plaid fabric… I like the floral fabric better by itself, but the fabric should showcase the cabinet's treasures which the plaid does.

OK…I have to say I really LOVE fabric #1 but you're right, the blue & white dishes would get lost so I think you should stick with choice #2. Both look beautiful so you really can't go wrong! 🙂
Peggy Hale says
I have to agree Kathryn the one on the right looks best especially if most everything is white. If you want the items you are putting in the hutch to stand out you might go with the less dramatic. They both are pretty. Thanks so much for joining us at Transformed Tuesday.

I love the white china that you and Barbara have. Have seen it on her blog, too. Who makes it and what is the pattern name?
