Hello World! Welcome Friends! Is there anything worse than hearing the dripping sound of water outside your window? And not in the night sky soft rain tapping at the window type, no, more in the broken gutter, broken roof fix me now sounding way.
And as strong as you think you might be, this sound has the endurance to beat any man. And it will get stronger as you weaken, feeding off your pain and showing you there is no way around it. So, my friend, suck it up and get it fixed.
Having a professional company come in and clear the gutters of all debris, any obstacles that are on the roof that could lead to damage, later on, is worth it in the long term. Hoping it will fix itself is not an option, and trying to do a DIY maneuver will most likely make the situation worse.
Fixing your Roof and Gutters
If you are one of the fortunate people who have become aware of rubber roofing and looking to install it then you are at the top of the crop. This innovation is becoming increasingly popular due to its longevity and reliability.
It’s known to prevent mold and algae growth and even in extreme weather won’t rot or crack. This is the type of maintenance plan I’d be looking into, less effort for maximum time. Find out more on Rubber Roofs – Guttering for a better home and stress-free future when it comes to looking after the house. Life is about living, not worrying about a roof that could pack you any day.
5 Benefits of a Rubber Roof
- Eco-friendly. You have a better carbon footprint knowing that the materials in the roof are made from recycled plastic polymers and rubber and are safe to the environment.
- Cost-effective. The initial cash output should not put you off, while they are more expensive than the standard asphalt tiles, they are higher in fire resistance and sealing capabilities. Because of the flexibility of the rubber, it can wrap tighter and in more tricky places ensuring a super sealed roof. This, in the long run, benefits your energy usage and saving you money.
- Longevity. It is made in such a way that it won’t become brittle, is resistant to thermal shock and even withstands hail in extremely cold weather situations. Now if they could just make a version for cars that would be great.
- Installation. Being that much lighter than boxes of shingle tiles being shimmied up to the roof, rolls of rubber roofing are easily and quickly installed. And with fewer seams, the chances of water leakage is little to none.
- Life-expectancy. Many of the rubber roofs used in the 1970’s are still in use today and standing strong. They come with a 40-50 year guarantee, so no shelling out every decade or sooner for shingles that are cracked and broken to be repaired.
Signs you Need your Gutters Repaired
Besides having people knock on your door claiming to have an offer to fix your gutters as they ‘seem to be’ in a bad state, there are tell-tale signs to watch out for. Some more noticeable than others, however, getting them seen to before the problem escalates is going to save you from a very big headache.
Take a walk around the perimeter of your home, any gutter piping that looks like it is sagging, bent or uneven in any way will most likely not perform well. The flow of water will not be steady or constant and can begin to cause a buildup of debris if it falls into the trays.
Peeling paint or spots of rust are a big giveaway, plus they look shocking. But a simple lick of paint is not the answer, you need to get to the root of the problem else that new coat will be peeling again in no time.
Mold or mildew, whether you notice it by smell or visual is indication water is pooling up somewhere, and getting stuck. This is not only dangerous to your health but could affect the structural integrity of the building. Something you do not want to encounter or be prepared for your wallet to resign and pack up.
There are smaller details you can look into and prevent any form of breakdown if possible, take a quick look at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMaa3uLFGGI and if any signs ring a bell or seem familiar, rather be safe than sorry and have someone come round to take a look.
Prevention is Better than Cure
As my granny always used to say, why is it broken in the first place? And she has a point, if you catch a problem before it has a chance to get out of hand, you’ll save yourself a whole heap of expenses and issues.
Take precautionary measures wherever possible, and spend time on more important things, like family and making memories. Life’s too short to stress about gutters.

Toodles,

I understand the things about gutter. Btw, I came to realized about metal roofing too. I’ve started using metal on all of my rental properties in the last year. It costs less to install than to remove several layers of asphalt and put a good quality shingle on. It is so much faster and is waterproof on a nearly flat roof. The temperature difference in the attic is substantial as well-two thumbs is here!
