Hello World! Welcome Friends! It seems like it takes forever to get a space completely finished these days. Thankfully, I can check the Laundry Room off of the project to do list. The main reason for the delay was having to wait for a new washer and dryer set. Both pieces were delivered about a month apart! Shipping is crazy right now. So, we just relax and roll with it. Below is a shot of the after, and you get a sneak peek of the painted kitchen and cabinets.
Below is a before shot from the listing when we purchased the house. Dark cabinets with the ever present baby diarrhea paint color on the shelf, door and trim. The laundry room isn’t huge, but it surprisingly is very functional. Okay, let’s get to some more pretty.
Let me help you get your bearings. From the kitchen arch, you turn right down the back hall which leads to another bedroom, bathroom and garage. The door to the left is the pantry with the laundry room straight ahead. Once inside the laundry room there is another door to the left which leads into the Primary Closet.
This room get no natural light, so the laundry room light and the hall light have been turned on to help light the space.
Here are a couple of shots with the light turned off so you can see the pretty chandelier. I like it so much I decided that the hallway lights should be replaced with a couple of these chandeliers.
I had initially wanted a stainless steel washer and dryer set, but alas this was the only pair that would fit in the space. The bins above were purchased from Amazon. They hold cloth sacks/bags, beach towels, rags, extra toilet paper and extra paper towels. I’ll link them at the end of the post if you are interested.
Custom artwork from my niece, Gabriella. Click HERE to check out her Etsy shop Adorned Truth. I went ahead and had Michael’s do the framing. I love these gold frames.
There is just enough space on the side for our little powerhouse Dyson and a small trash can for lint.
All the bins! The little leather handles make it easy to grab and pull a bin down.
I did all of the painting in the laundry room…cabinets, walls, ceiling, trim and doors.
Behind the door is the perfect space to hang dusters, aprons and whatnots.
It was painted black, but I decided to give it a coat of metallic spray paint.
All of the cleaning supplies are housed in the upper cabinets and the lower cabinets. However, I completely forgot to take a picture of the lower cabinet.
The two drawers are basically our junk drawers, but I try to keep them organized. I love the battery organizer!
That’s it for the laundry room project. I’m still waiting on hardware for the shutters in my office. Once they come in, I will hopefully get pictures taken and posted before the holiday’s are upon us. Currently, I’m painting mine and Greg’s shared closet. I decided to paint it in sections since I didn’t want to completely disrupt our clothing lives. Half of my clothes and all of my shoes are piled up in the guest bedroom that is down the hall from the laundry room. It’s slow going, but it will be so nice once it is all finished.
