Hello World! Welcome Friends! Has it seemed like forever since I started work on transforming my kitchen? Well, it has been just shy of forever. But, it is finally done! This kitchen reveal is really more of a makeover. Proving that paint, furniture, hardware and fixtures can do an amazing job transforming a space.
Let’s take a look at the before, shall we? Dark cabinets with the ever present baby diarrhea trim color and niche color. Remember, I’m slowly eradicating the baby diarrhea color from my home bit by bit.
Ah, the miracle of paint! The walls, ceiling, trim and cabinets all got new paint; and what a difference it has made to the look of the kitchen.
The primary bedroom is to the left through the arch. As you can see, I haven’t touched that room. It still has its original paint. Eventually, I’ll get to it.
It’s amazing how much painting the cabinets did to transforming the kitchen. I was never “in love” with the backsplash, but now it works perfectly with the new paint color; which by the way is not white or cream.
I also changed out the pendant lights to pretty gold lantern pendants.
The paint color is Realist Beige #6078 from Sherwin Williams.
New rug and of course new cabinetry hardware.
New soap and lotion dispensers.
New faucet and dishwashing soap dispenser. Also, there’s a peek at one of our new sconces in the Family Room.
New counter stools from Ballard Designs.
So, what do you think? Thumbs up or thumbs down?
Next week, I plan on sharing the shopping guide for everything we replaced. If you’re interested, pop back over next week for a visit to get the details on all the newness.
Here’s to the power of paint!

What an update. I feel like I’m right there with you. I especially like the counter stools. I am a huge fan of anything with fretwork and your touches of gold are lovely.
Our kitchen was beyond a refresh but we are doing a refresh or makeover in our guest baths. Like you, keeping the footprint and large, aka major expensive elements, the same but painting and changing out hardware and lighting and some tile work.
Doing these projects during worker shortages and supply chain issues is a whole new level of challenge and a lesson in patience but yours was well worth the elbow grease and wait. Beautifully done.

Thank you, Pamela! I’m looking forward to getting the house finished as I know you are as well. We are really having to work on our patience level. LOL. Thank you for stopping by! Happy week to you!

Wow! Amazing what paint can do! I’m sitting here looking at my 1980s oak cabinets … but I’m scared to take the plunge. You’ve inspired me to keep pondering this big decision …
