Hello World! Welcome Friends! Yesterday afternoon after Power Tumbling, Little Dedicated and I decided to invite some friends over from the gym for an impromptu visit to check out our new house. The painters finished up just as we were pulling into the driveway; so our friends were able to see the new place with a brand new color. Typical, the little girls checked out Little Dedicated’s new room and then headed outside to play in the backyard while Lindsay (the girls’ mom) and I ended up after the tour standing in the kitchen chatting about the changes I want to happen. One of the changes is definitely going to be a new kitchen backsplash. Well, that conversation had me thinking what would I really like to have in the new kitchen.
Well for one thing, the kitchen cabinets will eventually be painted white! I’m super excited about having a white kitchen again especially with the new paint color! It will look amazing. So, turning our attention to the backsplash, Lindsay asked me what I wanted for a backsplash. And, I can say emphatically, I have no idea! Below are just a few options I would consider with a white kitchen.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to glass tiles. I’m not sure if this is a phase for me or if it is something I could stick with for years to come.
Okay, I love the colors in this one, but it might be overpowering. The new kitchen is large and has a ton of backsplash. But, I do love it! I bet the color depth is off the charts on this one. Can you imagine natural light hitting it? Amazing, no?
Then there is the tried and true subway tile. I would probably do white, or a very pale gray!
There are so many option out there! Glass, stone, subway tiles, spa glass, stained glass. How will I ever choose?
Tell me what your thoughts are! I would love to hear them! Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow is the move date, so I’ve got to get grooving. I’m painting the laundry room at the new place…at least that is the plan! Have a lovely day/night depending on where you are in the world! Go with God and remember to be kind to one another!
Toodles,

For sheer stand-alone beauty, I love the blue/green one. I tend to go over the moon with bright color and patterns like that but have to remind myself that I might regret such a large and permanent use of it. Personally, I would choose the white or light gray and use those beautiful colors in your pottery or other accessories. Also both would blend so nicely with our mutual love of blue!

I like to keep more permanent choices as neutral as possible. I tire of color too quickly to commit to something bold. We have classic marble subway tile and we love it.

I love the idea of white or VERY pale neutral grey subway tile – you will tire of the blue quickly – that’s best in a bath anyway imho – best to stick to neutrals for resale value.
Love your choices.
Me? I love stone tile – it’s timeless. But the glass is trendy and clear and easy to keep sparkly clean for sure!
I am so happy for you – what a fun thing to get updates done. Whoo hoo!!

I’m so glad you are planning to paint your kitchen cabinets white! I have always loved white kitchens-they are so bright and classic. I have white cabinets in my current house as well as white cabinets in all the bathrooms & I love it! Our old house in Houston had all white cabinets and I’m so glad to see that they are making a comeback. Looking forward to seeing which house you chose-I am thinking maybe house #1-that was my favorite!

I love glass tile, and that’s what I selected for the back splash in my kitchen, in a 3 x 6 size. Best wishes in your new home!
