Hello World! Welcome Friends! Whether you are a homeowner, an avid cook or simply wondering how to keep your kitchen clean and in top condition, here are some ways you can keep this essential part of your home in as best a state as possible.
Don’t leave oven grease sitting for too long
The very idea can be arduous, and you may be tempted to delay this chore, but it is suggested that you clean the oven as frequently as you can. Leaving the oven with grease will build up over time, and you will just give yourself more job to do.
Not only will this become increasingly time-consuming but having a dirty oven is also unhygienic and can increase the likelihood of bacteria building and transferring to the rest of the kitchen.
So even if this may not be the most glamorous chore in the world, it’s best not to leave it last minute.
From everyday kitchen essentials such as baking soda and vinegar to investing in an effective oven cleaner, there are many choices to keep the grease off your oven.
Watch out for leaking pipes and flooding
Pipe leaks and flooding can be a stressful occurrence, especially if you aren’t quite sure where it’s coming from or how best to handle the situation. Of course, you can easily look up potential solutions to this issue. But it might be best to invest in reliable clean-up services for basement flooding or kitchen flooding that can fix the problem as efficiently as possible and offer advice on how to prevent this from happening again and how to handle the situation if it arises.
Clean kitchen counters daily
With how hectic day to day life can be, it can be easy to neglect your kitchen counter. From rapidly making that sandwich ready for lunch at the office to the kids rummaging through food cupboards, the counter can get messy very easily.
Ensure you keep on top of cleaning the kitchen counter at least once a day. Keep table wipes at an easily accessible place for that quick sweep and set a later time to fully clean the workspace. This will not only ensure that your kitchen is clean but will prevent any bacteria from gathering on flat surfaces that may cause diseases.
Organize the kitchen effectively
Keeping your kitchen organized can go a long way in terms of making sure it is a stress-free space. This can be as simple as organizing containers in neat rows and labelled accordingly or placing pots and pans where you can easily see and reach for them.
Likewise, keep the spice cupboard organized and labelled for ease of access and use. Utilize sticker labels or other ways to categorize your kitchen essentials to suit your aesthetic.
Organize the refrigerator by shelves and make sure to keep any raw meat away from cooked ones. Lastly, remove things you no longer use or know you will never use, as this will help free up some space and help declutter your cooking space for a more enjoyable cooking experience.
Broom and dustpan
For quick and easy cleaning, invest in a small broom and dustpan. This may be more efficient for small areas, or even the counter top to clean peels, spilled spices, etc.
For larger areas, a vacuum might be best. Vacuum regularly and you can even loop in the rest of the family and set up a schedule.
Empty bins regularly
Separate food from paper and plastics. Don’t forget to recycle, reduce plastic use and reuse bags whenever necessary.
Set up a regular schedule of who takes the bins out, and label bins clearly for ease of use.
Don’t leave dirty dishes to pile up
Cleaning dirty dishes is one of the least favorite household tasks but is highly essential for a clean kitchen. Not only will you not have to go through piles of dirty dishes if you wash them as you use them, but you can just easily grab a clean plate whenever you want – because they’re not piled up on the sink. It’s one way of making your life easier after a long day at work.
Likewise, take care of your kitchen utensils. Maintaining your appliances and utensils will help you save money in the long-run. By ensuring utensils and appliances are maintained regularly, this can reduce the amount of time you need to replace them saving you the hassle and the money on buying new ones.
A messy kitchen is unsafe and a breeding ground for bacteria and diseases. Not only will regularly cleaning your kitchen be good for you and your health but may also improve the experience of cooking overall!
