Hello World! I got sidetracked from my staining project and started working on another one. The staining project should get done this weekend. Anyhoo, The Dedicated Daughter’s toys have been strewn about in two different rooms. One room was downstairs and the other upstairs. So, all of her toys, puzzles, and babies have been moved to a room across from her bedroom upstairs. I really needed to get a piece of furniture designated for organization. So, off to Ikea I went.
I bought the Expedit organization system from Ikea. Love it. I will probably buy another one for the craft room…well, the room where crafts are supposed to happen, but really it’s where my ironing goes to wait for me.
This is what you see when you walk in the room to the right. Her little table and chairs where she colors and plays with her princess castle and fairy tree. The kitchen also gets a lot of action. The blue chest under the window holds all of her babies.
Here she is in front of her old tv that is really on it’s last leg taking a picture of me taking a picture of her. I gave her an old digital camera that is horrid…the child loves it. She spends half her day taking pictures of the cats, me and her toys.
I bought the green storage bins from Target. They were 2 for $5.00. And, they are sturdy which is a plus when you’re putting piles of toys in them.
She wanted me to show you her castle with all of the girls as she calls them. There she is in the background taking a picture of the Care Bear show that was playing.
I also picked up some contact paper to cover some of her old shoe boxes for storage. She wanted to put her chalk, crayons, and special markers in different boxes. I still need to make one for her crayons.
So there she is, posing in front of her new cubby as she calls it. Happy as can be. I have to say, I’m happy as well. I love having all of her toys in one spot. Also, it makes it easier for her to see what she has to play with as well as pick up her toys at the end of the day.
Gotta love organization. It’s not decorated yet, because I haven’t decided what I want to do in that room. But, at least it’s organized. Yay!
Anyhoo, if you want to link up at the Make it Pretty Monday party, it is still live. Click here to go directly to the page. Wishing all a grand evening and remember to be kind to one another.
Toodles,
Kathryn

I LOVE the Expedit system! We had it {with the attached desk} in our guest room/office in our first apartment and it was my favorite!

Beautifully done, its perfect for her! I just imagine that she is in "hog heaven." My granddaughter could use some organization like this for her room. I was always having to help her organize and keep things together. S~W~E~E~T!

Cute!!! I'm considering something like that from IKEA because it looks so cute and so practical. Good to see someone else using it! Great deal on the target bins too!

I feel like her and K should get together and take pictures of each other all day while playing princesses. It's like their the same kid. Love the shelf and jealous that you can just drive to an IKEA. It's a five hour day trip for me. 🙁

Thanks for sharing this at Gettin' Krafty! I should get my girls some of these shelves and do away with the huge plastic bins that are now housing the toys. This is so neat and organized. Great idea covering those shoe boxes with contact paper too.
