Hello World! Have you ever found yourself browsing through the aisles at your local home improvement store and wondering how people use those big casters that you see on the shelves? Casters are really just wheels attached to a metal plate that you can install on almost anything. Restaurants and hospitals often use these little tools to make moving heavy shelves and other bulky objects a little easier, and you can do the same thing in your own home. Check out some easy ways to use casters inside and outside of your home.
In the Kitchen
While adding an island to your kitchen gives you more work and storage space, it can also act like a huge eyesore. What happens when you want to make some extra room in your kitchen? Moving a heavy island might take three people or more, but you can make the job easier with some bakery casters. Attach one caster to the bottom of each corner to move the island anytime you would like. You can also use casters on the bottom of your refrigerator, which makes it easier to clean underneath and behind the fridge.
In the Bedroom
How many times have you found yourself frustrated with the toy box in your son or daughter’s room? While that box helps them stay organized, it might weigh so much that you can’t move it when vacuuming the floor. Installing casters to the toy box makes moving that heavy box a breeze. You can do the same thing with heavy trunks that you use for storage in your bedroom or bedroom closet too. Casters are also perfect for using on heavy bookshelves that you only move a few times a year or less.
In the Garage and Outside
No matter how many plans you make, you probably don’t clean and organize your garage as often as you would like. Adding a few simple heavy-duty stainless steel shelves in the garage let you organize everything from paint cans and tools to gardening equipment and lawn supplies. Use casters to quickly and easily move those shelves around the space for a garage sale or to make more room for your car. You may want to use casters on your patio furniture too, which makes putting away that furniture at the end of the season a lot easier.

Didn't know the name baker's casters. I have an old Hoosier on caster for an island and I plan on putting some on a chair for my craft room. We gave our son a vintage blanket chest as a coffee table
for Christmas and will suggest he put casters on it. Thanks for the suggestions.

I put them on my kitchen island. It's not totally done, but when it is, the molding will cover the casters.

"Mr. Ed" put them on his table saws!!!
Now when he's working, he can just push them out of the garage for sawing!!!
