Hello World! Welcome Friends! The traditional spring clean is a time of the year when a deep clean is carried out at home; the months after winter and before summer is the ideal time to do this and in this short article, we present a basic guide on how to carry out a deep clean of your home.
Essential Equipment
To carry out a thorough clean, you need the following:
- Mop & bucket & floor cleaning products
- Wet and dry cloths
- Vacuum cleaner
- Long duster to reach the ceiling
- Old newspapers to clean the windows, plus glass cleaning solution
- Old bedsheets to protect heavy furniture and floors
- Bathroom & kitchen cleaning products, scouring pads
- Dustpan and soft brush
- Rubbish bags – Black plastic garbage bags
- Furniture polish
- For hard floors, buy a floor scrubber online, which keeps the floor looking like new
Once you have all of the above, you are ready to get to work; plan for at least two days to clean a two-storey family home and hope for dry weather.
Room by Room
This is the best way to tackle a deep clean; start in one of the bedrooms by opening the windows and dusting the ceiling, removing cobwebs, especially around light fittings. Cover furniture and carpets with old bedsheets and after the dusting, leave the room for 15 minutes to allow for dust to settle. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and particles, then you can clean the windows inside and out, then use a damp cloth to run along the skirting and architrave, removing dust. Carefully remove the bedsheets and shake them heavily in the garden, then deep clean the carpet and allow the room to settle. Finally, polish furniture, fixtures and fittings, then apply some air freshener and leave the windows open for an hour.
Deep Cleaning Carpets
If you have carpets, contact a carpet cleaning company who can deep clean with special equipment that leaves your carpets looking like new. Hard flooring can be polished if you order the right equipment online, whether stone or timber, floor polishing adds a shine to any home. Household Waste
When you spring clean your home, you will find many unwanted items; old devices that no longer work, foam packaging from new devices that were left in the spare room. The best solution is to hire a small skip and put all waste in the skip and ask the provider to collect it when you have finished. Anything you no longer use should be put in the skip, unless it is usable, in which case you can donate it to someone in need or advertise it on Facebook. This is the responsible way to dispose of waste and wherever you live in Thailand, there will be a skip provider nearby.
If you have everything you need, there is nothing to stop you giving your home a spring clean, which helps maintain good health & well-being, essential for a happy life.
