Stabbing your furniture with knives and keys will only make it worse. Let’s not forget the sticky residue some labels and die cut stickers leave behind on brand new things which wakes the OCD demon in us.
The strong urge to remove the leftover sticker occurs in all of us, probably because we like things squeaky clean. In this article, we will be dropping some tricks that you might want to try out to get rid of those stubborn residues.
Let’s start!
Tricks to Remove Stubborn Stickers Remains from the Glass
Glass is always preferred shiny and spotless; even the tiniest spot can make it highly uncomfortable for a person. It has become quite easy to get rid of these unwanted stickers on glass. All you’ll require is a bar of dish soap, a big bowl, and hot water.
Procedure
Do not scrape off the sticker: Be patient! Scraping off the sticker will leave some leftovers behind; so, it’s better to leave them on.
Fill the bowl with hot water and soap: It’s all great when you put your thing in hot boiling water as long as it is your favorite crockery piece. Use normal temperature water and add the dish soap in it, any widely used soap.
Let it soak in the mixture: Your glassware must not be soaked for more than 30 minutes as it can damage your product. So, 20 minutes are more than enough to soften the residue.
Washing your utensil: Now, it will be apparent that the sticker leftovers are scraping off very smoothly. Now grab a sponge and start cleaning it. So now your glassware is as proper as new.
Removal of Sticker Residue from Wood
Another surface where these sticky plastics freeze themselves, making it even worse to get rid of them is wood. The only ingredient through which we can overcome this hectic problem is ‘Vinegar’. We don’t have various ways to remove the sticker from wood as it is a natural material, so this method should suffice more for our work.
Procedure
Soak a cloth in vinegar: Take a piece of cloth and dip it in vinegar. Let the cloth absorb the vinegar.
Cover the sticker: Now cover the surface of the sticker residue with the vinegar cloth and let it sit for about 10 min.
Scrape: Now grab a scraper and smoothly scratch the sticker and you’ll see how handy it becomes to peel it.
Note: In some cases, it might be more time consuming so don’t you worry its worth taking the time and your patience would prove fruitful.
Removal of Sticker from Plastic
Despite knowing the fact that plastic is a very dangerous and hazardous material, we still have a habit of using it in our daily routine. We have many products made up of plastics that we buy, and they come with the description label. So we can presume that peeling stickers from plastic is also a big task but, no worries these simple DIYs have eased our life. Check out the following hacks:
Procedure
Soak in soap: Fill a big bowl with lukewarm water. Now take a bar of soap to create lathers and mix the lathers with water making it soapy water. Take a cotton ball soaked in oil and start dabbing on the surface. Let it sit for 10 min.
Peel the sticker: Now gently peel off the sticker, and as you can see, your sticker is wholly peeled off without harming your material. Rinse the material with water.
Scraping Off Sticker from a Metallic Surface
This massive industrial material has some chemical properties due to which it resists in taking off things. Though it is hard but not impossible, some methods can be followed to remove the sticker residue. These methods depend upon the item.
First method:
Scrape through a razor: First, we try all the common hacks. Try to use a razor blade to scrape off the residue as much as possible. This will clean the surface enough.
Make the mixture: Pre-treat the surface with a wet cloth to soften and loosen the sticker. Take one tablespoon of coconut oil and baking soda and mix it well. Start applying the mixture to the residue. You’ll see that the sticker has started to leave the surface and it can easily be peeled off.
Peeling: Gently peel it and wash the surface of the metal with water.
Second method:
Scrape: Try taking the sticker off with the help of blade/razor. Since it is metal, the blade won’t do much harm to the item you will be scraping.
