Hello World! Welcome Friends! People today are always so busy and with this sometimes comes a lack of sleep. This can have a pretty negative impact on your health and even affect your daily life. One way to combat this is with a bedroom makeover! A new bedroom will help you feel more relaxed, less stressed, and most importantly, sleep better. Our article provides ideas for bedroom designs that will help you get some much-needed rest.
Start From the Bed
Start with the bed. You want it to be comfortable, but that does not mean you need to spend a fortune. For example, instead of buying an expensive mattress-topper, look for nice pillows and comforters, which are much cheaper! You should also know that there are box spring alternatives as these types of beds can be the source of your hassle. People spend so much money on mattresses but they don’t realize pillows make a huge difference too! If you can find one that has memory foam inside, even better. Memory foam is used in all sorts of things nowadays from chairs to clothes.
Add a Rug
A rug can be placed in front of your bed or at the foot of it, depending on where you want the most ‘foot traffic’ to take place. It doesn’t have to match your comforter but should fit in with your color scheme. The best rugs are usually around 2 feet by 3 feet in size so they don’t look ridiculously small when the bed is made but aren’t big enough that you trip over them every time you get into or out of bed.
Creative Bedroom Designs
Look through some home and lifestyle magazines and find something that inspires you and then implement it into your bedroom ideas. You will want to keep things like lighting fixtures and window dressings fairly similar so as to not make the room look pulled apart. Take a look at the picture below, which is a great example of how your bedroom can have fun designs and still be functional!
Lighting
Lighting is very important when you think about it. You do not want to be sleeping in a dark room and also, everyone knows that lighting should be dimmed at night. If your bedroom gets a lot of sun during the day then use curtains or blinds that can block out this light because closed eyelids will not help you sleep any better.
Do not forget about bedside tables and lamps! These pieces will provide much-needed functionality while also bringing the elements of style and class into your bedroom ideas. Most importantly, they are simple additions compared to an entire makeover so if anything goes wrong it won’t be too bad because it isn’t much you need to change back (for example, if your new comforter has a small snag in it you can either continue using it or put the old one back on with no trouble).
Walls and Curtains
The color scheme is so important when it comes to creating any type of theme, whether it’s romantic, modern, or whatever else you might dream up. Just like the rug and lighting fixtures’ shades should relate but not match too much, so should your walls and window dressings. If you decide on cream walls then go with light blue for the curtains; if purple is what you love then paint one wall dark purple and leave the rest white.
If none of these colors (or combinations!) appeal to you, look up different color schemes and try to find one that gets your creative juices flowing. The best colors for better sleep are usually light and bright. If you can do pastel, this is even better because darker shades will only raise your stress levels and make it harder for you to sleep.
Curtains are not just for windows! They can be hung to the side of your bed or anywhere in your room that might need a little privacy. You can even try using them as room dividers if you want unique bedroom ideas. Go for darker curtains on your windows so you don’t have to worry about them coming undone during the night.
If all else fails keep things minimalistic. Fill in with simple furniture and decor and let the rest of your bedroom ideas shine through in the lighting and rugs/curtains! Designing a new bedroom can have a huge impact on your overall well-being. If you’ve been having trouble sleeping at night then it’s time for a change! You will need some creative home and lifestyle magazines to help get you started on the right path but even with just the ideas given above, you will be on your way to designing the perfect room.
