Hello World! Welcome Friends! Getting your kids out of the house and into the garden can be difficult. Many these days want to spend time on their technology or be out chatting with their friends. But so many lasting childhood memories are made in the garden hanging out with your family. The trick is making it seem exciting and providing them with a reason to come out and use the space that you have worked so hard to give them. Here are just a few ideas on how to help your kids make the most of their garden.
Slip and Slides
One of the best things that you can bring into your garden when it is hot, is a slip-and-slide. Kids backyard slip and slides can be so fun to use and are a great way to keep cool in hot weather. They are fun just to use but you can also set up challenges that the whole family can get involved in. Think about time trials, races, stunts, or puzzles. All of these silly activities can allow everyone to get involved and have a great time.
Treasure Hunts
Treasure hunts are really interesting and engaging ways to get your kids out of the house. You can make these quite long or short but always bear in mind that you will need to set it up. Think about prizes that they can search for such as sweets, a coloring book, or getting to choose what dinner is that evening. Rewarding the children is a great way to make sure that they engage fully with what is happening. You can use riddles and tricks to make it harder and last longer. It is surprisingly fun to plan and hopefully will be even better to participate in.
Make a Vegetable Patch
When you have children, it can be a great time to get them engaged in gardening. Not only will this teach them about food and where it comes from, but it can be a mindful and healthy habit to keep when they are older. Plus, it is something that can help to sort out your garden. It will be hard work and so the trick is to make it fun and to help your children understand the long-term benefits of having fresh fruit and vegetables available from your garden.
Water Fights
An old-school option but a great one nonetheless, especially in hot weather. It can help your children stay active and hydrated. You may already have water guns in the home that you can make use of but if not then you can even make your own out of plastic bottles and a pair of scissors. Allow your kids to be creative and then get them soaked.
Making the Most of Your Garden
There are so many activities you can do in a garden space. It is why they add so much value to your home. Get your kids to appreciate it by showing them all of the wonderful activities that you can do in it.
