Hello World! Welcome Friends! One of the most common issues that interior designers face is the combination of different styles into one. While it is not uncommon, it is by far one of the most challenging things one could do when it comes to picking between a modern collection and a classic one – here’s what the experts over at ElmarkHolding.eu say about it.
Combining Two Opposites into One – How Do Professionals Do It
One of the many ways that professionals can distinguish themselves is the way the handle adversity and opposites. One such case is when an interior designer has to combine classic and modern designs into one space, and from the sidelines this could seem quite the hassle, but it’s really not that difficult.
Consider What They Have in Common
One of the ways a person can combine two opposites into one singular thing, namely an interior design, is by using what they have in common. With modern and classic lighting collections, there are a lot of things that are in common – most often the shapes and the materials, both utilizing strong shapes and materials such as metal, wood and brushed aluminum.
In fact, there is an established school of thought with interior design which creates models which successfully combine more than one style in one. These types of products are extremely successful because they provide something which no other can – a sense of style and progress which is a signature for both movements.
They Are Not as Different as You May Think
One other way of looking at them is as not as different – because if you put them at odd’s ends you will find it difficult to compromise between the two. Instead, rely on what they have in common and bring together in the center.
They are both light fixtures, right? They both have both standard and more removed shapes? They have both color variations which are cold and warm? Then there’s a way for them to be combined without the styles clashing too much with each other.
Of course, there are products out there that have a specific, very narrow window of usage and those products are reserved for those specific purposes. However, a leather chair can be easily combined with brushed metal and aluminum since they both have this profound, stylish sensation to them which does not really mesh well with other variations of this style.
While leather and wood would fit nicely together, there are products which should not be placed side by side, again, following the idea of common aspects. There is something which could be said about the style most people can expect from a classic style, however, not so much from a modern ceiling lights collection.
The goal of an interior designer in this regard is to pick and choose between different styles and to combine them in a way in which they do not clash. It’s all about shapes, colors and materials since they all have a texture to them and provide something for the eye to look at – a classic chandelier with a free standing modern, brushed lamp would be a nice combination.
