Hello World! Welcome Friends! As most of you know, Little Dedicated aka Chloe turned 10 over the weekend! I seriously do not know how that happened. I blinked and then she was 10! It’s true what they say, the hours are long, but the years are short. The photo below was taken just this past Monday when she was awarded the Gymnast of the Week at her gymnastics gym.
Turning 10 is a monumental time. No longer a little girl but not quite ready for more mature gifts. After consulting the birthday girl about what she would like for her birthday, I thought I would compile a list for those who might have young ladies to shop for. The items below were tops on her list.
Fitness Tracker
We live in a completely different world from when I was 10. It seems that everyone is on the fitness tracking band wagon. Since Chloe takes ballet, jazz, tap, gymnastics and power tumbling she was quite curious to see how many steps she takes in a given day. Also, a couple of her girlfriends from dance have trackers and were having mini-competitions between them to see who could have the top numbers for the week. As you can see from the picture above, we gave her one for her birthday and she loves it!
Crafts
A popular craft option are jewelry making kits. The girls love to make bracelets and necklaces and exchange them with each other. Also, my girl loves anything cat and unicorn related. For her birthday she received some really cute cat and unicorn stationary. She was over the moon with her packets of stationary and once the party was over got to work writing her thank you notes. Another popular craft that has not gone out of style is to make paper dolls or paper snowflakes. Pretty paper and a pair of scissors is all that is required for this craft; but the girls love it!
Scooter
This one surprised me a little. But, apparently this one is popular among Chloe’s group of friends. Stunt scooters are relatively inexpensive and are very lightweight. Also, they are easier to transport than say a bicycle when packing up to visit a friend. Plus, they are a lot of fun!
Legos
Legos are not just for boys; they are also popular among young girls. There are all kinds of Lego kits geared towards girls. The list includes Lego Disney Princess kits, Lego American Girl Doll kits, Lego Friends kits, Lego Elves kits, and of course Lego Star Wars kits for all of our adventurous girls and Lego Minecraft kits and Lego City kits for all of our future builders.
So, if you are shopping for a 10 – 12 year old girl, one of these items is sure to please her. Be sure to leave me a comment on any gift ideas that you have found to be popular among young girls.
