Hello World! Welcome Friends! It really does seem like everyone is online grocery shopping and home grocery delivery these days, so I wanted to see what all of the hype was about. I decided to do some preliminary searching on the web to see what sites recommended most for grocery shopping and, surprisingly (to me), a lot of people said apps were the way to go.
I did a little bit more digging and ended up finding a few that I really enjoyed. Ones that – even three months later – I find myself using on a regular basis. They’ve become such a staple part of my life, I knew I couldn’t keep them to myself any longer.
Instacart – Rating: 4.7, Downloads: 1M
If you’re in a hurry and need groceries right away, this app is the perfect solution because you can get your groceries delivered in as little as one hour. There are also loads of deals and coupons you can access for the items you buy every day. And, as if that’s not good enough, you also have the opportunity to have products delivered from all of your favorite stores. Plus, save all of your most-used items to one list so all you have to do is click “reorder” and they’re shipped right to you.
Just remember to keep in mind that Instacart is a service; this means that you will have to pay a service fee along with the price of your groceries. It’s just like if you were getting pizza delivered to your house; the delivery fee covers the cost of bringing the groceries to you. For me, it’s totally worth it, but this may not be the case for everyone, so I thought I’d mention it.
Pros: Get groceries delivered in under an hour, automatically order your favorite items
Cons: There is a delivery fee
Overall: As long as you don’t mind paying a small service fee, you’ll love having all your favorite items brought right to you
Publix Delivery – Rating: 4.7, Downloads: 100K
Publix Delivery lets you shop at your favorite grocery store right from your phone. You’ll be able to find everything you buy at your local store – including grocery items, home essentials, and more – all on your mobile device. Plus, not only can you order groceries for delivery, but you can also schedule a curbside pickup if you happen to be nearby and need to pick up some ingredients. There’s even reserved parking for curbside pickup so you don’t have to stress about circling the parking lot to find a space.
While this may seem obvious, I do want to state that this app is limited to Publix grocery stores only. If you don’t have a Publix nearby (thankfully for me I do because they’re my favorite!) then this app probably won’t be helpful for you.
Pros: Curbside pickup or delivery, shop your favorite grocery store and items
Cons: Only helpful if you have a Publix nearby
Overall: So long as you live within delivery distance of a Publix, you can fill all of your grocery needs at the push of a button
Shipt – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 500K
Shipt offers same-day delivery which is incredibly helpful; especially if you realize that you need an ingredient last-minute. This way, you know you’ll have everything you need to make that perfect meal – and it’s all brought directly to you; so convenient. You’re also able to make notes for your personal shopper so they know what brands to buy or the quantity of each item you want. Then all you have to do is pay and even leave a tip for a job well done once your groceries have been delivered. Bing, bam, boom – done!
Similar to Instacart, there is a subscription fee you have to pay in order to access Shipt’s services. This isn’t quite the same as a service fee because you don’t pay it every time you make an order; it’s more like paying your monthly Netflix bill, only you’re getting groceries instead of movies.
Pros: Same-day delivery, send notes to your personal shopper, pay on the app
Cons: You have to pay a subscription fee.
Overall: Save time by getting all of the items you need – down to the brand – brought directly to you; just know there is a subscription fee required to access the service
Conclusion
I know some of you must be thinking, “wow, these apps seem too good to be true.” So, in order to prove that I’m not totally pulling your leg, I wanted to provide the link of the website where I found these apps being recommended. Definitely check it out if you want to do a little bit more research for yourself – you may even find some other great apps that I missed!
For everyone else, I seriously can’t tell you enough about how much I’ve enjoyed using these apps. I’ve never liked grocery shopping much and these make the whole process so much easier. If you’re crunched on time or you simply want to skip the crowds, then I highly suggest you give one of these apps a try.

What a great post. I get emails from Instacart but haven’t used them yet. I have used Hy Vee up north and I was really pleased. I especially like it when I am going back and forth. I can order from the airport and have groceries delivered later that day. I was dubious that maybe I would get borderline old produce but that has not been the case. I have not tried Publix delivery down here but I’m glad to hear that you have been pleased with it. This is such a great option for a busy world, but I am looking ahead and signed up my mom for an account. I doubt she would be able to navigate the website herself but even if I am in Florida, I could find out what she needs, order it, and have it delivered to her. For a frequently long distance caregiver this is a Godsend. Wishing you an easy move this next week.
