Hello World! Welcome Friends! I have really enjoyed seeing all of my blog friends and their beautiful Fall decor posts. They have truly been so inspiring! It would seem that as of late, I am really drawn to the Fall gardens. Gardens that are lush with beautiful plants as well as decorated for Fall. I love seeing Mums, Beautyberry, Pansies and Russian Sage. Since moving into our new house, we haven’t done much to the yard except to trim trees and keep the yard neat and tidy. But, I have been thinking of a plan.
Garden Structure
One of the things I would like to change in the front yard is the structure of the existing landscape.
The two beds under the windows are fine as far as their initial shape. I would like to pull out the palm and replace it with something a little more traditional for the look of the house. Now, the space between the Oak trees, I would like to create a flower bed that would then connect both of the Oak trees. Hence doing away with the circle beds underneath the trees. I have been scouring the web looking for inspiration pictures and some of the best have come from the UK. They are quite amazing in how they sculpt a garden.
Color
Also, I would like to infuse more color into the existing flower beds to compliment our boxwoods. In addition, we had hibiscus plants that surrounded the back side of the palm that didn’t make it last winter before we purchased the house. Really, that entire bed needs to be completely redone.
I would love your thoughts on creating a flower bed between the two oak trees. What shape do you see for the flower bed? What would be your suggestions for plant choices for my Texas climate in front of a traditional house? Now is the time to do the planning, so that once Spring comes we are armed with a good plan to go forward with. But, for now, I dream about spaces like the one below:
