Hello World! Welcome Friends! Well, Hurricane Laura is churning in the Gulf and we have had a couple of busy days getting the back patio cleared, doing laundry and making sure we have our Hurricane supplies. We are hoping that we don’t lose power, but if we do we have plenty of books to read, games to play and if I really got bored, I could clean the house. I think I would rather sleep. LOL.
Last week, I took advantage of a sunny day and snapped a couple of pictures of a new mat and late Summer wreath I recently purchased. The wreath will also do nicely to transition into Fall.
Greg loves our new “Big G” mat, that I purchased from Grandinroad. The wreath is from Wayfair. I moved the white planter to the back patio since the G mat takes up so much space.
In other news, I have started painting the Study. Since the ceilings are so high in the Study, I decided to go with a dark color. It looks amazing next to the stained chair rail and moulding.
I thought I might get it finished by this weekend, but my free time was spent with preparing for that wicked girl in the Gulf.
As you can tell, the mat is very thick and can handle a good shoe wiping.
Isn’t she pretty? I wasn’t sure I was going to like the dried look, but she’s quite striking.
So, that’s it for my Late Summer Front Porch. Next up, I hope to show you my finished pantry. I’ll need to give her a slight straighten up before I take pictures. You know how it is.

Pretty wreath and entry mat!
I sure hope you guys are unharmed with Laura. Looks like she’s taking a turn and heading straight for us here in WV this weekend with lots of rain.

Thank you, Rita! Laura came in to the East of us. We got a sprinkle of rain and no wind…thank goodness. Hope you have a lovely rain shower and no flooding.

I absolutely love what you’re doing with your home. It’s very striking. I love the brick paired with the stain on your door. My goodness, that’s beautiful. Add in that lovely wreath you created and it’s all joined perfectly together.
I’m in agreement about that nice thick mat too. Wayfair has some wonderful finds, don’t they? Our last name begins with a G too. I just might have to go get one of these for us. 😉
Thanking God that you and your family are safe from Laura. My heart and heartfelt prayers go out to everyone who was affected. 🙏🏼 Sending love and many blessings your way. Such a beautiful blog you have here. Let your light keep shining, sister! ❤

So glad Laura missed you. Your home is lovely. The wreathe against the dark stain is striking. I have updated old dried wreathes with a mist of spray paint or the addition of silk flowers/accents to get more mileage from them–a good project 3-5 years from now!
