Hello World! Welcome Friends! When you first come to Jacksonville, you may be overwhelmed at how many neighborhoods there are to consider for you and your family. Each one has its own personality and its own unique charm that is sure to please you and your loved ones. Jacksonville, Florida as a whole is full of character though. Anywhere that you choose is sure to be a good fit that even your children will love. Continue reading below to learn more about six of the best neighborhoods that you and your significant other can raise your family in.
1. Northside
Northside is within close driving distance to everything that you need in Jacksonville, and your home will be right off of I-95. The neighborhood is right on the border of downtown, borders the beaches for sand and waves, and is very close to the airport. Within Northside are a variety of state parks to explore with your family. Many locations in the neighborhood are full of history that you can all learn about together. Two great options include Yellow Bluff Landing with a community pool for the long summer days, and Oceanway for walking distance to Sheffield Park.
2. Intracoastal Waterway
Intracoastal Waterway, which the locals call Intracoastal West, is right along the shoreline and includes easy access to Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach for your views of the ocean. Pablo Bay is a popular home development in this area that has trails to walk and parks within the subdivision. If you and your family choose Crosswater within the Pablo Bay subdivision, you will have easy access to a community pool and community events too. The Jacksonville Golf community is also within the Intracoastal Waterway if your family loves to play sports together.
3. Nocatee
Nocatee is technically not within Jacksonville city limits, but it is just south in St. Johns County. The schools in this community are top-notch and receive only the best rankings, ensuring your children get the best education possible. Do not worry because you and your significant other can find friends within the community as there are always events happening. There are several parks like Nocatee Spray Park and Splash Water Park. These parks are perfect for the summer as you can cool off in the water. You will also find an area where you can kayak with your loved ones or hike at Greenway, and there are plenty of shopping opportunities.
4. Orange Park
The neighborhood of Orange Park is on the westernmost side of Jacksonville, and it is very historical. You will find homes built during the early 1900s, and many homes come with views of the St. Johns River. Oakleaf Plantation is a particularly great subdivision within Orange Park as there are many young families within the area. You will find many churches, recreational sports opportunities, and plenty of events for all, including the popular Movies on the Greens.
5. Deercreek
Deercreek offers homes of almost every size to accommodate any need that you and your family may have. The neighborhood is only half an hour away from Oceanfront Park, where you all can play in the waves and the sand together. You can go virtually anywhere in the surrounding Jacksonville area, as the neighborhood is right next to I-95 and I-295. Right in Deerpark, you can join the Deerpark Country Club. At the country club, you can play golf, get in the pool, or attend many of the events together, such as bingo or Yappy Hour.
6. Ortega Forest
The final neighborhood to consider for your move to Jacksonville is Ortega Forest. Ortega Forest is one of the safest neighborhoods in the country and has some of the top-rated schools in the country, including the popular Ortega Elementary or St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School for a private option. MoveDay local movers will get you settled into one of the beautiful estates or ranches where you can watch the water while unpacking. After settling in, head to Stockton Park or Bettes Park, or you can take a kayak out on the Ortega River together. Here you can fish or just enjoy the nature that is around you.
