Hello World! Welcome Friends! 2023 was a whirlwind of a year for me! My schedule exploded with work and our daughter’s Marching Band schedule followed by her Indoor Percussion schedule. I had such lofty goals to get my house finished and share it all with you! But, alas time worked against me, and I barely got a few projects finished! I really do hope this year I can check off some major projects in our home. But, for now, let’s take a look back at the most popular posts on the website last year.
Favorites & Highlights – 2023 Top Posts
Primary Closet Refresh & Organization
Interesting fact, in 2022 an organization post had the most views on the website. And, in 2023, again an organization post topped the page views! Massively overdue, the Primary Closet Refresh & Organization was a project that I was so glad to see finished! Not much has changed in a years time. We are still using the organizational bins for our shoes, scarves, ties and extra toiletry supplies.
Last year I started to update the paint in the Dining Room to a warmer color to really work with what was already in the house. Keep in mind, this is not my forever home; so I need to be mindful to work with the flooring, granite, backsplash and stone fireplace. This year I will be sharing another update in the Dining Room. This time, the trim got a little paint makeover. Stay tuned for that post in February.
Strawberry Spinach Salad with Strawberry Dressing
This delectable Strawberry Spinach Salad with Strawberry Dressing is one of my favorite salads! It’s incredibly refreshing and packs a ton of flavor. Be on the lookout for more recipes this year. I love trying out new to me recipes when I have the time to devote to the process.
Late Summer Porch & Front Garden
Another area of my home that tends to be popular with my readers is my front garden. The Late Summer Porch and Front Garden earned the 4th spot for page views. The Gardenias are coming back well after the last freeze. They used to be the size of my boxwoods, but we had to cut them completely down to save them. All 5 of them are still growing nicely. Once Spring has sprung, I’ll share the front garden so you can see the progression and growth.
Oh, I had such grandiose plans for Fall decor last year! But, the schedule had other plans for me. I love all of the colors in my Fall Fireplace Mantel from last year. And, you know how I love color!
I was pleasantly surprised that my Family Room Christmas post made the top ten considering I didn’t share it on the blog until 12/23! Looking back at previous Christmas photos, I think this is my favorite mantel decor I have ever dreamed up. I promise this year, I will have more Christmas decor out! I did miss walking through the house and seeing Christmas scattered about.
Pantry Update – Adding Storage
Maximizing storage space is key in my not tiny, but not large pantry. In the 7th spot is Pantry Update – Adding Storage. Let me tell you, these acrylic shelves for my spices are fantastic! Amazon for the win!
Latest Trends on Granite Countertops and Cabinets
One day when I buy my forever home, or really my retirement home, LOL, I would love the opportunity to select countertop materials as well as cabinets, and truly make it my very own aesthetic. However, I do think it would be rather stressful, but fun as well. The variety out there is astounding and a bit overwhelming. If you are contemplating a change, check out the Latest Trends on Granite Countertops and Cabinets.
What’s Trending in Home Renovations
In the 9th spot is a post on What’s Trending in Home Renovations. If I had time, I could do a long, deep dive into trends in the home renovation industry.
Enhancing Curb Appeal: Hardscaping Elements That Make a Difference
I firmly believe that curb appeal sets the tone for our homes. I’m fascinated by the amount of different hardscapes on the market and the impact they can make on the exterior of our homes.
That’s it for 2023! I hope you enjoyed taking a look at some of the top posts on The Dedicated House – Favorites & Highlights – 2023 Top Posts.
