Hi Friends! Are you hosting Thanksgiving or any Fall celebrations at your home this year? I’m currently in the planning stages of a Fall tablescape I want to use this year. However, I want to do something different with candles than falling back on gold candlestick holders that I’ve used quite frequently.
While in Hobby Lobby the other day, I spotted these cute wooden houses that had a tiny opening in the back. I thought these might work on the table as candle holders for a small, casual dinner party. Fortunately, I had one of my Fall cloth napkins in my purse which I used to get coordinating paint.

Here they are before paint.

I completely forgot to get a picture of the paints I used, but you can see a couple of them on the left side of the house. Once home, I pulled out my trusty tablecloth I use for crafts and for game night to protect the table.

They were very easy to paint, but the wood did require two coats to get an even coverage.

I also picked up the brown velvet ribbon while at Hobby Lobby. Last week, I shared this pretty wreath that I hung at the top of my mirror. I originally wanted the wreath placement to be in the center of the mirror or just a tad up from center. I tried attaching it with a command hook, but it just wasn’t working. I was afraid that the wreath would fall and then be damaged. So, I pulled her down hoping to find a ribbon I could use to hang her from the top of the mirror and drop the wreath down closer to center. I think this ribbon will do the trick.

The ribbon and wreath both coordinate nicely with the new house colors. And, fortunately, the little hole in the back was just the right size to get a battery operated tea light inside the little houses.

Here are the other elements I’m using in my tablescape; gold scalloped, round placemat with a natural placement to tie in with the lighter color in the wreath. And of course the gold is repeated in the cloth napkin which coordinates well with the houses and the placemat.

Here is a closeup of the pretty wreath and the velvet ribbon. I just love this wreath and the new velvet ribbon.

Those are some of the elements of my casual Fall tablescape. I haven’t quite decided on which china I’m going to use. I’ll keep you posted.
Let me know what you think in the comments. I would also like to see your Fall tablescape inspiration. Tag me on Instagram so that I can have a look.
