Hello World! Welcome Friends! It is Week 2 of the Fall 2017 edition of the One Room Challenge. A huge thank you goes out to Linda at Calling it Home for being the mastermind behind this event!
We are in week 2 of giving our kitchen and the interior of the cabinets and pantry a much needed makeover. Since last week, I’ve been methodically working my way around the kitchen. We still have Hurricane Harvey houseguests, so I opted for not taking all of the cabinets and drawer fronts off all at once. I’m working through the kitchen one section at a time giving the interiors and exteriors of the cabinets a good clean and then priming and painting. Before we get into update pictures, let me remind you of the inspiration for the kitchen cabinets as well as the interior organization of the pantry.
The Plan in Action
I decided not to buy all new hardware since that would be a huge chunk of change. But, I wanted something a little more elegant and that would give a little pop. Below is the hardware before it got a fresh coat of Metallic Gold spray paint.
Lovely details, but they get lost. Now, let’s see what she looks like in gold.
It’s amazing how changing the paint really brought out the scroll work.
Organization
Now, here is what I’m focusing on with the organization aspect of the interior of the cabinets and the dreaded under the sink black hole.
Next week, I’ll show you the interior and exterior of the sink portion of the cabinets completed; as well as the plan for the pantry and refrigerator.

You know, I love that you’re doing a cabinet at a time…that picture really shows the transformation between the old an the new. Your countertops look incredible with the new white cabinets and gold painted pulls. And your organization plans look fantastic.
