Hello World! Welcome Friends! Please welcome Jessica Kane to the blog today! New York may have Rockefeller Center, a skating rink, and the Rockettes, but the state of Montana has a great deal to offer during the Christmas season. There are eight magical Montana Christmas towns that are well worth a visit.
Darby
Darby is an idyllic town the year around, but it is particular picturesque during the holiday season. One of the main draws during the holiday season is Darby’s Triple Creek Ranch.
Darby’s Triple Creek Ranch has long promoted itself as being the place to be throughout the entire month of December. The ranch invites guests to spend part of the season with them to enjoy an old fashioned cowboy Christmas.
Darby’s Triple Creek Ranch provides an array of memorable wintertime activities during December. These include sledding and ice fishing. In addition, the ranch offers its guests the opportunity for horseback riding as well.
Darby’s Triple Creek Ranch rents cabins to its guests. These provide perfect places to celebrate Christmas with your loved ones. Darby’s Triple Creek Ranch makes available a full spectrum of Christmas decorations that you can use at your cabin. This includes your choice of an artificial or live Christmas tree.
Whitefish
Time and again, Whitefish has been voted as one of the most beautiful towns in all of Montana. The town is even more charming during the wintertime holiday season.
One of the highlights of the holiday season in Whitefish is the annual Christmas Stroll. The Christmas Stroll is a marvelous celebration of sights and sounds. The event includes a tree lighting ceremony in downtown Whitefish. In addition, a holiday visitor to Whitefish can enjoy Christmas carolers and even photos with Santa.
Bigfork
The residents of Bigfork go all out for the holiday season. This quaint community becomes known as Montana’s Christmas Village during the wintertime holidays. From lights to music to celebrations of different types, Bigfork really blossoms at Christmastime.
Phillipsburg
Quite like Bigfork, Phillipsburg truly comes alive during the holiday season. Phillipsburg is a popular tourist destination throughout the year, but particularly around Christmas time.
In December, Phillipsburg oftentimes is described as a winter wonderland. This is due to the amazing array of festive decorations that line the streets of the merry village.
Bozeman
In many ways, Bozeman is said to epitomize the spirit of Montana. It truly is a vibrant, eclectic city the year around.
At Christmas time, Bozeman becomes a popular destination for people from around Montana, and across the United States. Downtown Bozeman really comes to life in a magnificently beautiful way to celebrate the holiday season.
From Thanksgiving, until just after the New Year, Bozeman is vibrantly alive with numerous light displays. A highlight of the holiday season is the annual Christmas Stroll, held on downtown Bozeman on December 3rd.
Billings
The largest city in Montana is not to be outdone during the holiday season. The celebration starts in Billings the day after Thanksgiving. On that day, the annual holiday parade is held in Billings.
One of the unique holiday events in Billings is what is known as Zoo Lights at ZooMontana. Every December, the zoo in Billings is outfitted with a vast array of beautiful Christmas lights. Zoo Lights creates a lovely drive through experience for people interested in ringing in the holidays in a uniquely beautiful way.
Lewistown
The Christmas season kicks off in Lewistown the day after Thanksgiving. The annual Christmas Stroll takes place that day in the heart of Lewistown. The Christmas Stroll reaches a climax when Santa Claus rides into town as part of a festive Parade of Lights. Merchants keep their stores open late for people interested in some holiday shopping.
A unique feature of Christmas in Lewistown is the Polar Express. The iconic Charlie Russell Chew Choo is converted into the Polar Express each December. The Polar Express takes families on train rides to Santa’s home in the North Pole.
Fort Benton
The oldest town in Montana is not forgotten at Christmastime. Fort Benton presents a vintage holiday celebration. The historic Chouteau County Country is party of the scene, and is smartly decorated for the season. In addition, The Virgelle Mercantile takes part in the Christmas celebrations, and hearkens back to days gone by.
