Hello World! Welcome Friends! The outside of our home is what most people see; only a very tiny fraction of people ever get to see the inside: so the curb appeal matters. Not only do strangers’ glances over your home inform how they feel about it, but it also informs how they feel about you! If you’re tired of being unsure and want to cultivate a gorgeous home exterior: you may have trouble knowing where to start.
You’re not alone! A lot of people are unsure or overwhelmed and can’t decide a direction.
Here are the top easy ways to boost the appeal of your home and get you started on the road to the dream exterior you’ve always wanted.
Power Washing
Not enough people know how cheap and easy it is to powerwash their homes, and they need to know! Power washing can cost as low as $45-$60 a day, and for that amount, you get to have free reign of cleaning the outside of your home: Powerwash away green grass stains and pollen residue from over the years. Your home will look brand new.
Weeding and Edging
We all know to mow our lawns and care for the green grass: but you’re not doing enough if you stop at mowing. Take the time at least every other week (preferably every week you mow) to clean the edges of your lawn and get rid of any stray weeds. This is like cleaning up the edges on a haircut or taping over areas you don’t want to be painted in a bedroom: it makes it look crisp and pretty. If you’re unsure, look up tutorials on YouTube!
Trim Back Branches, Save Your Roof!
An enormous mistake many homeowners make is letting their trees overgrow in an attempt to add shade. Looking at homes for sale in Toronto is a long list of people who need to trim their trees, or they could be facing flooding and ice issues in the winter.
Trimming back branches also allows you to ensure that no creatures are making their way into your attic or roof. You may think your roof is okay and that this won’t affect you, but everything from bats to raccoons will find a way into an available roof or attic if there’s an easy path.
Get Creative With Flowers
Some yards are simple endless stretches of green, and although that can be beautiful and fun: it’s not interesting to look at. Instead of giving up and hoping the bright green will be enough, you can attempt to excite and intrigue people by giving them something to focus their eyes on. At least six inches away from the walls of your home, you can plant flowers in any pattern or color plan you want.
The cheapest way to do this is to look for junk or discounted brick and make a flower bed layout. From here, till the soil within those confines, and lay endless flower seed in patterns you want. Ensure that you use local flowers and that you take care of them. Spending a little more will let you plant live plants, but seeding is a cheaper alternative!
