Hello World! Welcome Friends! The housing market is saturated with options to suit the wants and needs of almost any homebuyer. But you don’t necessarily need to buy a new home to change things up. Reconfiguring, resurfacing and repainting can be transformative. There is no shortage of do-it-yourself shows to help inspire and guide you in doing just that.
Whether you choose to take it on as a weekend project or hire it out professionally, remodeling can take a stack of cash. If you have been in your home for a length of time, it may be beneficial to look into a home equity loan. That could get you the cash you need and put it right back into increasing your home’s value. So which projects can produce the most bang for the buck without a total renovation?

Curb Appeal
Turn your yard into a showpiece by improving your curb appeal. Start by doing some general cleanup. In some cases, a driveway or steps may need to be replaced. Beef up the posts on your porch with wood casings or stone cladding. Add some attractive shutters or window planters. Replace or paint the eaves and rain gutter.
Trim along sidewalks and drives to remove sod encroachment. Fertilize and re-seed the lawn. Installing a sprinkler system may be a good investment. Mulch around trees and place a few pots filled with colorful flowers along the path or front steps and accent with an interesting boulder or two
Making an Entrance
The front entry should be warm and inviting. Replace or repaint the front door and paint it in an eye-catching color that complements your home’s exterior. Invest in a couple of updated light fixtures and a new mailbox. Check out creative options for showcasing your house number. If you have a porch, consider adding a bench or other seating and a plant or two.
Interior Design
There aren’t many things that make as much difference or feel as good as a new coat of paint in updated colors. You may also need to replace worn or stained carpets, and if you have hardwood, refinishing is a great option and an opportunity to change the color as well. Changing out light fixtures and outdated doorknobs or cabinet hardware can bring things into the modern age, as can replacing the light fixtures.
So don’t feel you have to move to get the home of your dreams. With some planning and elbow grease, refurbishing could give the home you already love a new lease on life.

We’re slowly working our way around our yard re-doing our gardens and patio/ deck option after years and years of use and neglect. LOL.

I love your idea Don’t Relocate, Refurbish. I’ve found myself in this mindset on more than one occasion. I’m now redoing my outdoor space and it feels great. Good enough for me to want to stay where I am, lol. Thanks for the inspiration, and sharing on Sunday’s Best.

Didn’t you relocate instead of refurbish? I’m confused….

We did relocate due to moving our daughter into a different school. If we could have picked up our previous home and moved it, we would have. Now, I get to refurbish our new to us home. Happy Summer.
