Hello World! Welcome Friends! I know I’m crazy to start a makeover right before Thanksgiving, but I’m on a roll with the room makeovers and I want to keep the momentum going. Before I dive into the plan for the dining room, Chloe’s room: the Modern Galaxy is almost complete. Over the weekend we got the artwork, mirror and curtains hung. I’m waiting on one thing to come in which hopefully will be here either today or tomorrow. If it arrives, look for a reveal towards the end of next week! Let me tell you, it is one cute bedroom! So bright and glamorous!
And, the Powder Room is almost done. We have some patching and repainting to do under the chair rail and to hang a shelving unit that I spray painted. Once that’s all finished, I’ll take pictures and get a reveal up as well.
Now, onto the Dining Room:
The room is spacious and has some great features. The wood flooring and the moulding are my top favorite features followed by the Plantation Shutters.
Not only are the walls changing, the furniture is going to get a facelift. I don’t have any current pictures of our furniture, so I’m sharing pictures of our dining room from our previous house.
Everything you see in this picture is going to get a makeover. But first, let’s start on the walls.
The walls above the chair rail are going to be painted Reflection 7661 from Sherwin Williams.
Below the chair rail will be painted Sherwin Williams Extra White in Semi-Gloss finish.
Now for the amazing accent wall. Walls Republic donated this gorgeous wallpaper that will go on the far wall.
This piece is gorgeous and I can’t wait for you to see it!
Now for the furniture.
The hutch, table and chairs will be painted Amy Howard Atelier. Below is a sample of what the color looks like.
All of the hardware will get a good dose of Rub ‘n Buff in Antique Gold.
For the interior of the hutch, I am using Amy Howard Palmer Pink.
For the sad, little sideboard, I’m using Amy Howard Easton Green Lacquer.
I know the green seems a bit bright, but I think it will work with my plan.
Accessories
The fabric hasn’t been picked out for the seat cushions or the curtains. And, no rug has been selected. I thought I would let it unfold as I continue the project.
However, this chandelier caught my eye, but I’m not keen on the price. And, it’s on sale! Oye.
Also, I bought a mirror that I thought would work in the Powder Room, but it was too big for the space and needed to be spray painted. Instead of returning it, I kept it hoping to use it in the dining room over the sideboard. It’s red, so I plan on painting her a metallic gold!
I’ve got a lot to do if I want to get this room wrapped up before Thanksgiving. I would love to hear what you think of my plan.
