Hello World! Welcome Friends! Located on the east side of the Rocky Mountains and a little bit west of the High Plains is the most densely populated city in Colorado, and that is Denver. It has a population of around 720 000. That makes it the nineteenth on the list of most densely populated cities in the United States of America.
The first settlement that marked a place in history in today’s Denver territory was back in 1858. As the organized prospectors decided to place a mining town on the territory we know today as Denver. By 1970 Denver had developed so much that it became the host of the Winter Olympics in 1976.
Nowadays, this city is known for its developed industry in agriculture. An interesting fact about Denver is that it is surrounded by 78 neighborhoods that are used for administration.
Because of its advantages and attractive history marks, Denver has become one of the fastest-growing capitals in the United States. Although all of the above is true, there are many other benefits that attract people to buy houses in this city and start living there. The Picturesque View
The best part about this city is that it is surrounded by beautiful views and fantastic landscape. It is said that in almost any building, you could find a view outside of your window that will take your breath away.
This is because it has an excellent geographical location and is surrounded by mountains and gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. For those looking for the perfect place to take as many pictures as possible, the good news is that there are plenty of gorgeous sights in Denver.
Rich History
There is nothing better than streets full of history. It just gives you the feeling that the city is alive and has its own spirit. When a particular place has stories all around it, it makes you feel welcome and comfortable.
Moreover, Denver CO is full of historical facts and entertaining stories. Every single citizen in this city enjoys living it, and that explains the density of the population. In the beginning, this city wasn’t planned to be a big one. It was meant to host around a couple of thousand families. But a lot has changed since then.
These families were supposed to be miners and have a temporary location. But the incredible views and other advantages of Denver attracted a lot of crowds, which gave birth to the city we know today.
Good Climate
It is natural to think that a city surrounded by these massive mountains is cold and dark. But you would be completely wrong. The city has four different seasons, like it is supposed to be. You can feel the gorgeous spring and look at the blooming streets of Denver as you drink coffee in one of the best bars in the country.
Chilly nights are only there in winter and are perfect for the holidays, and the family gets together. So, all in all, this is the most attractive place in the whole U.S. But these advantages have contributed to the incredible rise of the prices for the home, which makes people wonder if they should invest in a property in this city.
Skyrocketing Prices
The attractions of the city have made it more expensive than the rest of the United States. It was estimated that the cost of living in Denver can be up to 12% higher than the average of the whole state. This is because Denver is densely populated, and in order to have food for everybody, it needs to import from other places in the country.
The long-distance trips for bringing the food make it more expensive than the average prices on the market. This, of course, reflects on other industries that contribute to the incredibly high prices everywhere. It was estimated that an average home cost is about $420 000. This is double the average price on a national level.
Exhausting
In 2019 over 60% of the population were under 40. Although this could be exciting for a short period of time, this could be pretty exhausting in the long run. The city literally never sleeps, and you will be on the constant move.
With so many people in town, the traffic can be pretty challenging. Because of its location, a lot of people go to the mountains on weekends. This makes impacts the traffic, and it is hard to move through the city even on Sunday.
The bad news is that the weekends are not the only days of the week with heavy traffic jams. Because the city developed almost overnight, the metro is not accustomed to the population right now in Denver. A bike is an option during the warm days, but you would have to rely on the metro and other forms of public transportation during cold weather.
Isolated
Although Denver’s location will allow you to enjoy magnificent views, it is somewhat isolated from other big cities. But this shouldn’t be a problem. It is true that there are a couple of towns nearby, but those are nothing compare to the size of this city.
The closest cities to Denver that match its size are about 8 hours away. This can be a real problem when you want to go on a spring or summer vacation, and you find out there is no beach around it nor near it. Even though there are lakes, they are nothing compare to the beautiful beaches of the East coast.
So, the only way you could visit another city or a beach is by flying, and that sounds tiring when you have only the weekend free. But, going by car or train is even more tiring and strenuous.
Dry
The city is surrounded by nature and mountains, but that doesn’t protect you from being sunburned. Inside the city, the air is pretty dry, and there is almost no cover from the sun. Because of its higher altitude, you are even closer to the sun.
This means that you could probably get sunburned at 20 degrees because the sun is a lot stronger in this city. It is unnecessary to say that protective moisturizer is the first thing you need to have to live in Denver.
Dehydration
Because of Denver’s dry air, you would have to drink water at least double the amount you would normally drink. On top of that, you would have to take extra care of your skin to not have the skin of someone 10 years older than you.
But that’s not even the worst part. The dry air is the reason for many fires that take place around the city of Denver. This endangers the quality of the air, which may produce serious health issues in individuals.
Spread Out
The city is not concentered in one area but rather spread out. And because it has a lot of population, it is highly unlikely that you can manage to find accommodation in the center of the city. Most likely, you will be able to find a place somewhere outside of it, which means you will need to prepare yourself for a lot of driving.
