Hello World! Welcome Friends! Although it makes sense that homemade holiday decorations are going to be cheaper than store-bought ones, it doesn’t always follow that they are less gorgeous just because you made them yourself!
Here we have 5 fantastic ideas to transform your home for the holidays in simple ways that don’t break the bank and create decorations that last for many Holidays to come.
#1 Make your Own Festive Wreath
You can create a simple wreath that won’t drain your wallet by creating its form using Styrofoam and then, using the kind of adhesive gift bows you can buy for gift-wrapping, attach them to the Sytrofoam in an attractive way, using various colors until you have achieved the desired effect.
#2 Make a Candy Cane Vase
Candy cane has the perfect color combination of the Season and looks really good when glued to an old can or jar and tied with a red ribbon. Then you can fill it with artificial – or real – seasonal poinsettias for the perfect mantel or table display.
#3 DIY Mistletoe!
You can either use leftover pieces of green felt if you’re a crafter or it’s pretty cheap to get hold of and cut them to a template for mistletoe leaves from Google Images. After you’ve cut the leaves, add some pearl embellishments for the little berries and arrange them before gluing with a hot glue gun. Then tie with a ribbon into a bunch and hang it from the ceiling or from whenever you want to grab your seasonal kiss!
#4 Dress your Room with Festive Finishing Touches
You can do simple things such as drape your dining room chairs with a festive fabric or plain sheet and wrap big bows around them to keep the drape in place. You can use tape underneath the seat of the chair to keep everything in place and it will make any room fit for festive celebration.
#5 Make Attractive Displays with Festive Pine Cones
Pine cones are so traditionally seasonal and can be easily found in the months before the Holidays. Although they look great on their own arranged in a basket in your fireplace among other festive decks, you can give them an extra bit of sparkle by gluing and dipping in glitter. You can go as berserk with the glitter as you like to achieve the look you want! Consider coating them in gold glitter for a bit of fireplace bling.
