Hello World! Welcome Friends! A breakfast nook is one of those special corners of the home. It allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet of a great meal to start your day. While many people eat breakfast on the go, the breakfast nook isn’t that place. In fact, it encourages you to sit down, eat and savor the moment. If you have a small space near the kitchen, turn it into a breakfast nook and include the following components.
1. Color Scheme
Don’t try to go against the grain and choose a color scheme that’s the polar opposite of the rest of your house. Choose colors that are complementary to your current scheme in the rest of the home. However, you can do so with a twist. If your living room contains rich, jewel tones, you can create a breakfast nook with subdued versions of the same colors. This way, you can still match the rest of your home yet get a different look.
2. Sturdy Furniture
Sturdy furniture is really important because you want to be comfortable in your breakfast nook. Find chairs that have backings. Add comfortable, plush cushions to your seats. You can also choose to use a stool and place it along the length of a wall. Once you do this, you can add a custom-made cushion for the stool. Farmhouse furniture is really popular. Consider adding a small farmhouse table to the mix.
3. Flooring
In order to customize the breakfast nook, there are a few options you can consider. First, you can completely change the flooring. If you have carpet and want to install tiles, do it in that corner first. Use Trimaco products to make sure that you do a thorough job of protecting the space. Floor protection is essential once you finish doing a job like tile installation. Since a breakfast nook tends to be pretty small, it’s a great project that you can do in a short amount of time. If you don’t want to do the dirty work, you can decide to place a large beautiful rug in the space. The only thing with rugs is that they need to be vacuumed. Be prepared for clean-up since you don’t want to collect crumbs on the floor.
4. Lighting
If your breakfast nook stands near a window, this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the sunlight. Add window treatments that allow the sunlight to come in. Add blinds for privacy and sheer curtains that let the sun shine through. It’s also a nice idea to add a lamp. You don’t have to solely use a breakfast nook at breakfast time. If you’re using it in the evening, you’ll want to be able to see. Place a simple floor lamp in the corner of the nook for extra light or add lamps to a nearby buffet.

Great post! I’m looking to refurnish my house both family room and formal living room.. ……I’m looking for sturdy furniture but I don’t want to spend a fortune on it either. A lot of these furniture stores sell overpriced press board.. ….
Thanks!
